I came in to Darksiders with no previous notion of what the game or gameplay entailed. I was immediately impressed with the gameplay, and the graphics are decent, although the cutscenes graphics are lacking compared to in-game graphics, which can be forgiven for a 4-5 year old game.
The gameplay almost never gets stale, it changes up enough to keep it from getting boring. Even when you have to fight the same mini-boss multiple times they change it up enough to keep it interesting. On normal mode the game seemed easy, so if you are an avid, able gamer, I suggest playing on difficult.
This is one of my favorite games of all time. The puzzles are interesting and the story is good. It reminds me of The Legend of Zelda puzzles crossed with World of Warcraft style graphics, and the combat is reminiscent of slashers like Devil May Cry and hero titles like Arkham Asylum and Deadpool, where grappling an enemy makes the other baddies wait for you to finish.
Completing the game took roughly 24 hours of gameplay on normal mode while hunting down every upgrade, armor piece and treasure chest I could find.
