Jumping needs to be reworked.
I quit the demo level because I died 7 times in the lava room from missing jumps. I'm not terrible at games (I do QA testing as a job), so I don't think it's that I'm an especially terrible player.

I think the downward gravity momentum/speed either needs more drag or you need to be able to jump higher. Possibly both. Look at other first person platforming examples and model off that.

Good luck with the game, I think it has potential.

Yes, I agree this is very strange. The jumping is designed to be very forgiving, so that if you get at least close to jumping off the ledge and/or landing on the ledge, it will give it to you. You even have movement control in the air. Your system specs could be helpful. What kind of frame rate are you getting?

It runs at a steady 30 fps (which I believe it's capped at in the options menu)

Incidentally, I realised that LEFT SHIFT causes you to run, which turns those jumps from impossible to very easy. Not sure why I didn't try that before, so used to having "always run" set as default, perhaps.

Ah, that may have been it. Oddly enough I tried regular mode after the tutorial and didn't have as much issue with the jumping. Maybe there should be a small "jumping tutorial" room before the lava room or something similar.

Hey Gilben, Jeremy tried something a bit different and we'd like your feedback. In the latest version, the default mode is running where Shift brings you down to a walk. You'll still run out of energy eventually, but we're hoping this solves some of the core platforming issues that we've seen (you're by no means the only person who's run into this, btw).
