Theres only one mod i know about...and thats the mafia 2 multiplayer mod...its still in alpha but its slowly getting better. http://www.m2-multiplayer.com/ Yes you ought to be able to add mods to any game on steam...never heard of even a single game where mods are discouraged.

Those are not mods Creeper, those are official DLC's. But yes, I believe it should be possible to add mods to Mafia II here on Steam.
The best thing you can do is to find the mod you want and research the possibilities for adding it to a Steam copy of the game ;)

Its extremely hard to mod game files. If you want to mod cars for example, all you can do is extract the game files and try to mod the hex files of the car. You can not add anything, you can not modify anything major because the guys worked with hash codes all over the place. Thats also the reason you cant add a singel ********** radio station... this really sucks big time.

There is that MP mod, as well as the Free-ride mod. Theres plenty of mods that work fine with STEAM version of 'dah game.

The Free-Ride Mod doesn't work and the Muiltplayer Mod is in Beta Mode still being tested

The Mod for Mafia 2 mulitplayer is not made by 2KCzech Games its made by someone that doesnt work for the Company they made the mod illegally and mods on Steam violate the TOS

Are you serious?

Mods are not illegal. There are only supported or unsupported Mods. Nowhere on Steams TOS, does it say anything about Mods violating Steams TOS. I have about 70 games from Steam, and just about half of them have Mods outside of Steam's Workshop (Nexus, ModDB, etc.). Many publishers/developers leave the door wide open for Mods.

Sorry for the necro on this thread, but I was merely looking for Mods for this game, and came across the above comment, and thought a correction was in order.

I just got 'Free Ride' from the link listed below, and it works flawlessly. I've been monkeying around with it for about an hour, with absolutely no issues as opposed to what was previously said on this thread. So if you guys want to fool aruound without missions for a bit, then by all means grab this one.

There's a bunch of fine Mods there, including some nice weapon sounds, and graphic/textures that I also have with no issues.
