you stay with the bots and use the bombs & bile

Stay together, preserve your health pack, have pipe bomb, Get AK47, use an axe as your secondary, handguns have very low power.

If you know its gona happen, camp by the faulty generator and get your buddies to cover you (assuming you are playing online) and when it goes off, ignore all teh mobs and restart it... works for me generally.
