Left 4 Dead Black screen.

the game is running apparently normal ... start it by steam .. it looks like it will run ... hear the sounds in the background but no image appears n ... the screen just goes black ... no crashes or anything ... not only no image appears

is already updated ... already tried to defragment the steam ... already checked the integrity ... already modified the resolution

Delete "video.txt" file from your cfg folder, and let your game start with default settings. There are server admins going around editing your video.txt file now, and setting the data in it to different values to cause people to grief. Valve's workmanship on not caring to fix bugs and exploits.
