Mouse invert. If I turn the character to the right, turn left and vice versa. Help!

Unfortunately the game server took me to someone who changed the game, erasing keyboard controls and inverting the mouse, but not up and down (as is applicable in the game options) but from left to right. Now move the mouse in one direction makes the character (survivor or infected) to move in the opposite direction. This only occurs when entering in any party. In all modes of play.

I have asked friends and I found the famous ZEN.CFG modifying the configuration. I disabled the StreamCloud and have verified files without result. The same uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I've looked everywhere but I did not find any similar case. Just mouse lag issues and sensitivity.

I need urgent help and I appreciate the contributions. I can not play a video game that I love and I've been playing more than five years, almost every day. Thank you all.

There is a certain server, maybe more that is spreading malicous file/s that mess with the mouse. I have seen a couple other people with the same mouse problem you desribed, but no one seems to have fixed it yet. So until someone figures out a workaround guess you are screwed.

There is a server that is distributing a file that modifies the game controls (keyboard and mouse) This file is copied to different folders, setting the game up this configuration StreamCloud, which makes it very difficult disposal, because if you have option enabled StreamCloud saved in the game, each time you delete that file, whose name is ZEN.CFG, will again be copied back to the same folders. A nightmare.

But there is a way to eradicate it once and for all. I've been searching google for a while and have found the solution. Although difficult, must be done step by step, checking each step, as the well-implemented method erased once and for all the ZEN.CFG of StreamCloud and folders Steam and Left4Dead.

That's the first thing my friends recommended me to do. And I did. But still the problem continued to appear and wondered why.

The point is that even disabling and deleting StreamCloud the CFG folder completely, to verify the integrity of the cache files, returns to the damn Zen.CFG file every time the game starts appearing.

This is because Steam has already loaded "default" that file. The Zen is very well designed to make your life miserable. Unless STEAMCLOUD fool to himself so that a synchronization conflict occurs and then download the basic game files.

Still, try the method is not bad. But I notice that the ZEN.CFG file is copied to multiple folders. That means the file is not only in Left4Dead / Left4Dead / CFG folder also found in other folders and hidden mode :(

Now I have all controls keyboard and mouse configured perfectly and I managed to remove all the locations ZEN.CFG. You must also eliminate "Remotechave.vdf" file "Remote" folder (that you can find in the link)

You have been "salsa'd" by the Salsa plugin designed by Archer.

Your settings and cfgs have all been wiped.

Here's what to do.

1. First IN-GAME click options - Steam Cloud - UNCHECK (don't sync)
2. Close l4d
3. go to this directory (if not in windows figure it out):
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead"
4. Delete the directory named "cfg" entirely
5. Open Steam and go to your LIBRARY and right click on l4d.

7. Click Yes to all and it will re-download that directory.

You can also right click l4d in your steam library to disable the sync with the cloud. Otherwise you're simply restoring the culprit back onto your comp each time you log into l4d.

BONUS STEP - For extra protection now make config.cfg and autoexec.cfg (if you have it) READ ONLY.

Servers that use this plugin can target all or specific users. Try to remember the server and never visit again and warn others. The server that got me was...
