Votekicked for ping-- is this really what people obsess over now?

I live in a town with about 3200 people in it. One internet service provider. I can't control how bad my ping is, I have no bloody choice in the matter. If I did, my ping wouldn't be so friggen high! Not naming names, but the guy who kicked me is sub-50 hours of play too... somehow, that makes me even more frustrated. Now, there's no games available because the only one that was open I got kicked out of!

I feel you man. I went through the same. Hence why I don't play versus anymore. Its the community that ruins everything now. :(

I am playing Left4Dead right now. Those people I played with they were not that helpful, and when I was pinned down by a Tank nobody came to my rescue. :/ I would just do Multiplayer once myself and a few friends set up a weekend to do that. They work and I just went through a death in the family just last night. That is my advice is to just get together with 3 other friends and play multiplayer.

Most of the friends I have through Steam were made actually playing Left 4 Dead 1 & 2. As for real life friends, the ones that use Steam don't actually own Left 4 Dead.

The online L4D community isn't complete garbage-- I'll admit it has it good points. Recently made friends with a surprisingly competent noob and a very cooperative 11 year old, so multiplayer is still a fun experience with strangers.

Sometimes you get good teammates, sometimes you don't. My playstyle is "Prioritize the health ands safety of my teammates before my own", and if that isn't compatible with those I'm playing with, I just leave. No sense being helpful when they can't even play cooperative, right?
