Do you like modded servers and if so what are your favorites? I ask this because some people love them and some people hate them. But keep in mind not every modded server is the same.

Yes I used to play there a long time ago. But that server is very outdated now. They run an older version of the game from 3 years ago. Steam players can't join that server normally, unless they modify one of their game files, which won't let them connect to pretty much any other server.

Yeah, that's pretty dissapointing.. since the server owner is still active on his other servers.. he just refuses to upgrade them..

Yeah Devster probably doesn't update because the people who normally connect there are clueless on updating. Either that or they are just lazy as hell. I used to play on Zoeylicious a lot as well. But stopped because the server is outdated. In fact I think his 3 servers are they only ones running that version of the game. Everyone else is running the up to date version (except some Asian countries). I play on other servers on occasion, but now I mostly play on mine because I am the main administrator and do lots of testing and modding.

Yeah and it seems since then many just don't know the game was updated. Or they just don't know how to update it. I've also seen since then that many people you and I use to play with no longer play L4D. I'm starting to get tired of the game too. It's the same ol' same ol' all the time, and the masses of people are too damn lazy to download a custom map.

People want to see vanilla changed rather than waste time downloading custom maps for a new experience. It can be successfully done with sourcemod, so honestly, I still get new experiences. Not sure where you get same old.

I think every "owner" likes his server better, because they try to make it there way..

it's always good to see people doing something to change them.. like Marcus and yourself Hunk.. also visiting other servers is nice to get some idea's instead of copying stuff or steal it.

in my opinion is to keep the game as original as possible.. because players do not like to download to much stuff..
if you would have a 2nd server, you can have custom maps and such.. people will like to play them for sure then, and its a way to have them getting custom stuff..
and now with the group that makes the l4d2 maps for 1, it can be a nice addon for L4D1

I prefer modded servers when there balanced correctly.. or a madness advanced from time to time..

and normal expert is just to damn easy if you used to a hard modded server..

That is one of the hard things about servers, they CHANGE ALOT.
