Left 4 Dead

Vezi statistici:
Game used to work just fine, now it doesn't
I hadn't played L4D in a while, until I tried firing it up again today. Previously, it worked just fine, but now, while it does start up, I can't seem to navigate through the home screen (not to mention that the whole sequence where "VALVE" is supposed to show up just shows a black screen; I could only hear the Valve sound). Anyone else w/ this problem? Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the last time I played this game was prior to updating to OSX Mavericks? I tried verifying the game cache for L4D, and my Steam games are all on auto-update. Tried restarting the laptop after all that, still encountered the same problem...

intsalled directx ?

I'm pretty sure I have it. How do I check?
goto l4d directories and attempt to install the one based there

Put -nointro and -windowed parametres in launch options, may do the trick. At least game should start quicker.

Thanks, but I'm pretty sure that's not the problem... The game starts fast, you can hear all the sounds all the way to the home screen, but nothing shows up on screen! Until that is, you switch over to some other window and back to L4D. Something does show up, sounds are still there, but everything seems frozen... :(
Uninstall and Reinstall Steam?

I don't think there is any. Why you're asking?
