Thanks for the solution Fowiski
Ps. I'm using the linux steam version
I hope someone in charge reads this. It seems like there is still a steady stream of people who are going back to Opposing Force, and we're all getting stuck on the elevators.
Encountering bugs like this usually force me to play a "quicksave happy" style. It's not really fun, because there's usually little punishment for dying. I lost a lot of gameplay the first few times with the elevators, and feaing other bugs because of this led me to save very frequently (probably too frequently).
I'm running the Windows version and this trick has worked, many thanks.
So yeah jumping works.. or switching to the direct3d renderer.
It's essentially a wierd clipping bug that causes you to clip through floor.
But thanks for the info. If jumping won't suffice, then I'll try switching the renderer, albeit temporarily.
A few minutes later, I found out that this glitch can also happen inside vents.
The vent in particular moved down and there was a loading 'screen' right as you're 'falling'.
