[BUG] Elevator Glitch (Stuck to Floor)
I push the button to go down an elevator, and the elevator goes down. When the elevator gets to the bottom, I am stuck in place, unable to move anywhere. I can still shoot and switch weapons, but my feet seem to be planted in one place. This has happened on many different elevators, and only when going down.

The only way I have been able to prevent this is to keep hopping up and down as an elevator descends. If I am in the air when the elevator stops moving, I am fine, and can walk around normally. If my feet are touching the ground, however, I am stuck, and must reload to my last save.

Hopefully someone can look into this. Thanks.

It's a glitch with the map. They put the platform too low and it pulls you into the ground.

Thanks. I didn't think anyone would ever respond to this! Hopefully this can be fixed in an update so others don't have the same problem.

Yeah man I know. The only thing to do is hop up and down :(

I've got the same problem except I'm many hours into the game and I've encountered it for the first time. I'm on the level Vicarious Reality. I'll try the jumping thing right now, be back in a sec :^] Yeah, the jumping thing works.

Thanks for the solution Fowiski

Ps. I'm using the linux steam version

:)

I hope someone in charge reads this. It seems like there is still a steady stream of people who are going back to Opposing Force, and we're all getting stuck on the elevators.

Encountering bugs like this usually force me to play a "quicksave happy" style. It's not really fun, because there's usually little punishment for dying. I lost a lot of gameplay the first few times with the elevators, and feaing other bugs because of this led me to save very frequently (probably too frequently).

I had the exact same problem, I even tried jumping down from great height lol (past the warning sign).
I'm running the Windows version and this trick has worked, many thanks.

Ahh that glitch... actually the reason for the glitch is the OpenGl Renderer... if you switch to say Direct3D the glitch goes away. HL is set up to you the OpenGL by default but you can change it. It actually happens in all the HL games from time to ttime but it is most prevelant in Op Force.

So yeah jumping works.. or switching to the direct3d renderer.

It's essentially a wierd clipping bug that causes you to clip through floor.

Is that the software option? I remember trying that setting and it would not allow me to run the game in 1080p :P
But thanks for the info. If jumping won't suffice, then I'll try switching the renderer, albeit temporarily.

A few minutes later, I found out that this glitch can also happen inside vents.
The vent in particular moved down and there was a loading 'screen' right as you're 'falling'.
