Well, I am fighting against this green-octopus monster. I shot both eyes, I wait until the monster teleports out of their heart, and kill it. Then I do the same thing again.,..and again...and again...and again..Is it normal that it seems to be endless? The room is meant to break down, but it seems ot be weird to do the same thing for like 8 times and still nothing happened.

I do shot that thing, but I have only one weapon with ammo left, which is this laser gun you get when you click number 7

I'm not sure if you can damage it with that, but it screams loudly in pain when you hit it correctly.
If it doesn't work, maybe you can teleport to Xen with the alt-fire and get some ammo...

I dont have ammo for that machine.

Use the spores, you won't run out because you have to latch onto them with the barnacle to reach the gun on the left. Aim for the back of the gene worm's pouch, not the teleporter.

How do you hit the orb correctly?

I killed the boss but the game doesn't progress. Restarting didn't help.

Yeah, this is a known bug with the game. After you kill the boss, you're supposed to black out and wake up in the next level, but for some reason, especially on Unix based platforms, it fails to happen from time to time. It just happened to me.

The only workaround is to skip to the final level manually after you fight the boss by typing in the console

I will warn you though, the ending to the game's a combination of mysterious and let-down, so if you want, you can pretend that after fighting the monster, Shepard just shrugs his shoulders, leaves Black Mesa, and gets a beer and a pizza.

I also got this glitch playing on a Linux system just now. Thanks for the workaround.
