Friendly Fire chapter - hostile medic

Well, I guess the chapter earned its name. After crawling through the vent to the room with 2 masked dudes leaning on a truck and another 3 masked dudes in the room, I managed to open the door for the medic, only to get killed by him.

At first I thought this was scripted, so I tried killing him, which, evidently, leaded to a mission fail. I tried again and again and nothing would work. I even tried running past the dudes to the medic and only once did he listen to my commands, until a masked dude came, which triggered him to start shooting the masked dude and then me.

Was it the room with the medic in the mirrored cop sunglasses fixing his hair in the mirror. Where every time he glimpsed in the mirror another vengeful medic appeared in the reflection? Its like th thing cant die, maybe its a bug in the skin or armor.

No, it's the part where there's a wounded engineer and you need the medic to revive him to proceed

Just load an early save, you must've attacked him somehow.

That medic said he's buy everyone a round of beer if we made it out. Well we made it out...where's my beer? This medic is a liar and a murderer. He keeps all his drugs to himself too.

Did you have the medic follow you? Friendly Grunts will automatically target an enemy that damages you while they're following you. If you damage yourself they will target you, it's a weird little glitch.

lmao got stuck same bit you did , thats how i found this thread. all i did was load an earlier save before i fought the enemies then i went back and interacted with the medic. then fought the enemies and was fine

Don't think I had an earlier save. I mean, I think I had saved an hour prior to this event. Anyhow, gave up. But hey, on this note: the early games were way more fun than Half-Life 2 due to their clunkiness and HL2 now just seems like the godfather of boring sewer environments, fite me.
