Incredibly hard difficulties are opportune for those who are well practiced in surpassing impossible odds.
Fast music means fast gameplay, and stong elements of bass, wild riffs, and resonsant harmonies ALL add to the overall power of your guns. I highly recommend going to bandcamp and getting The Helix Nebula - Meridian.
LOTS of arcade style replay value. If you're into arcade gaming, and this style of game that is.
Lots of records to beat, and things to unlock. I love unlocking things in arcade games.
DLC is too pricey at full price for what you get. Recommend spending no more then 2-4 for Ultra, and 2-3 for Shadow Ops.
They make you pay for access to workshop elements. I mean seriously... I don't really use workshop on anything, but... WTF?
Bosses and waves occur at same times every song, every game. Not much variation, and would be cool if it synched bosses with the strongest points of the songs. Some songs have lulls aligned with boss fights, and that's a death sentence.
Full price for game is much like the full price for DLC. A bit too high.
Would I recommend this?...
If you like arcade games, or hate not being able to listen to your own music with your games often, YES.
If you get tired of repetitive challenges, Don't like to challenege yourself with insane difficulty settings, or focus too much on the negatives of things rather enjoying what you've got, No.
This game has simplicity, and should be enjoyed with simplicity.
