Online co-op, no reward.

If I've understood correctly, If I and a friend play co-op online and complete a quest no one of us 've done before, we'll both get the questreward. This, however, is not the case for me as if my friend turns in the quest, he gets the reward, and vice versa.
Is this how it's supposed to be? Do I have to sacrifice the loot for co-op?

If you completed a mission you cannot gain reward 2nd time. And for example - if you're hunting for "The Bee" which mission you already done, you can still gain it from someone else's mission.

But this occurs when I lvl new characters and do the missions for the "first" time, so if I play coop only one of us gets the reward.. :-(

Wrong. Whenever I play with my friend, both me and him get the reward. Before you turn it in, just to be safe, make sure the other person who ins't turning it in press esc and it should bring up the quest stuff. If not, idk, always worked for me and my friends.
