Been waiting for this, shame it requires a third party app this time.

OMG OMG Plz Gearbox, give us this option ))))))))))
Tealus Oct 22, 2012 @ 9:37am
Gearbox has already made it clear that they will not add a 3rd person view option. It was only available in BL1 with a hack and it will only be available in BL2 with a hack. Which someone finally was able to hack it in.

Im trying it right now and its amazing, Im just worried about using the CheatEngine, I hear you can have your Steam Acc flagged or Banned, do you know if it is true???

Borderland is not a VAC (Valve anti-cheat) game. Nor does Gearbox has any plan to make it an VAC game. As long as your hack does not break the rules (no reverse breaking/removal of the Steam DRM, etc...), you're allowed to mod/hack your own game.

However if your hack effects other people, tick off enough people that report it. Steam might do something about it.

P.S. If you have that cheatengine running at anytime while even thinking about starting up an VAC game, there is a good chance that you're going to get smacked with a ban for that game.

Thank for all this info, didnt know about VAC. I dont feel like using a 3rd person mod is cheating, but the name of the program, CheatEngine scares, hehe.

How is anyone overcoming the whole bullets firing backwards thing? Or is that not possible?

I've editied my ini three times to change the camera angles like recommended, but they are still firing backwards and the general aim is waaaay off. Cant even hit a pile of dung on the ground at point blank range.. lol

As far as any VAC is concern, any program that access or modify memory (which is what cheatengine does) is "cheating". So if you have cheatengine running and you fire up Team Fortress, don't be surprise when you hit with the big old ban hammer.

Modifying the view may not not be consider "cheating", but turning your character into god-mode is. And thats done the same way, memory modification. And it's too much work for Valve to evalute every case to verify that it's really cheating or not, so it's a full on bannable offense to have a memory modification program running.

Awesome. shame we have to use third party for it.

If you set CameraScale=5.0 in (WillowGame.ini located at: C:\Users\username\Documents\my games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\Config\WillowGame.ini) to say CameraScale=1.0 this will reduce the miss firing considerably.

I've had no problems using cheat engine for this game, but to be on the safe side I would disable it on other steam games particularly those where some for of player vs player is involved.

If you scale the cama to 5, will it'll fix the bullets hitting the wall and still be able to see your toon?
Plexus Oct 23, 2012 @ 4:35am
5 is full 3rd person, 1 is very close to behind characters head - 1 you should have less problems hip shooting but it is too close, set to 2 - 3. 3 is sorta like mass effect 3 third person.
