PS3 Controller not supported on Full Controller Support Game?!!!
I am so frustrated and ♥♥♥♥ed right now! I want a full refund, Steam advertises that this game has full controller support?! I have been able to use my PS3 controller on Team Fortress which is partial controller support! You have no guidelines on your site for the controllers that the games support! This is not a great marketing mechanism, and this is the fault of Steam as well as the Manufacturer of this game.

I want a full refund! Right now!

The only options for me to play are to purchase an Xbox 360 Controller and play with that, which has issues on both versions, I should not have to research what is compatible when it clearly states full controller support!!

I've captured a screen shot with the time stamp, as well as my purchase, so if Steam changes their description on the page after this complaint, I will pursue for my refund legally.

This needs to be fixed now! Very frustrated, not OK!

If you want a refund for your purchase, pull a Steam Support Ticket. Also, are you just trying to plug and play or use the DS3 tool?

I use MotioninJoy to emulate an Xbox 360 controller on my PS3 controller and it works perfectly fine. I think most games don't support PS3 controllers anyway, so it's either MotioninJoy or buy an Xbox 360 controller. Sorry, d00d.

hahaha ♥♥♥♥ed much? its because you're using a ps3 controller which is normally not supported by controller played games, now buck up and get a real controller (example xbox360 to pc bought and made from microsoft to play on the pc) or get motionjoy and button map it to exchange the buttons for xbox to playstation, instead of complaining.

OR based on the fact this is a first person shooter and using a controller for that is fairly complicated use a damn keyboard and mouse, it makes playing them ALOT easier

I have a MAC!!! not PC guys, PS3 works on Team Fortress, an old game, that says PARTIAL CONTROLLER SUPPORT, that lets me know that MORE controllers are supported on FULL CONTROLLER SUPPORT. This is false marketing. You can hate on MAC all you want, but I work for my money and will not let a billion dollar corporation take any penny of mine. Tons of people have complained over this, it's false marketing, and not right.

MotioninJoy works on Mac. It has a seperate download for Mac and Linux. But like I said, want your money back? Go pull a Support Ticket.

Partial controller support only mean that buttons on a controller does as much as it can but to do some things you need a keyboard/mouse. A game that says full support mean that controllers can do anything in game, it does NOT mean ALL controllers work. this is not false advertising this is you using a controller not made for computers, also xbox to pc use usb connections, the PC is a generalization to personal computer. i do believe it works on macs but dont quote me on it.

1 thing, PS3 controllers just weren't designed for PC/Mac at the start. They were made for PS3(obviously).

The reason PS3 controllers aren't supported on PC is because Microsoft owns that territory with XBLA and Xbox controllers.

Gearbox/Steam can't and won't patch it because that's not possible. If you plug an Xbox controller in, everything works fine, just like on consoles. So your false advertising claim is wrong. It's you that seem stubborn enough to play with a PS3 controller without knowing what you're doing.

This is why MotionInJoy exist. It allows people with PS3 controllers to play on PC using various controller "emulators", Xbox Xinput included. I'm using a PS3 controller right now. It's smooth sailing here. When I bought my PS3 controller I knew full well that it wasn't officially supported anywhere.

A PS3 controller is not really a PC controller. An Xbox 360 controller is a controller for Windows and is meant to work with Windows. The reccomended thing to do is buy a certified controller for computer gaming or you should have bought Borderlands 2 for your PS3

HOW TO PLAY WIRELESS: Using Motion Joy - DS3 Tool.
- Install DS3 Tool.
- Run DS3 Tool.
- Plug in PS3 Controller USB Charger Cable with connected PS3 controller to PC.
- Plug in USB 2.0 Mini Bluetooth V2.0 EDR Dongle to PC.
- Go to Driver Manager in the Motion Gamepad Tool.
- In the Hardware Location section there will be two check boxes.
- Click on the first check box.
- And Load Driver. May take a few seconds.
- If done correctly, should say: driver for Port #___Hub #___ completed.
- Go to Profiles.
- Select one of the profiles.
- I recommend using the Xbox 360 Controller Emulator. Most compatible with all games.
- Click Enable.
- Click Game Controller Panel.
- Brings up the Game Controller window.
- Click Properties. A test window will pop-up.
- Test to see if it's working.
- Next we want to set up a PS3 controller wirelessly.
- Go to BluetoothPair. You will know the Bluetooth Adapter is working if it shows up in this section.
- Click on Supports Feature. You want to make sure 39 and 40 are ticked. 3-slot Enhanced Data rate ACL packets. 5-slot Enhanced Data rate ACL packets.
- Then you want to click Pair Now.
- Go back to Profiles.
- Disconnect Controller.
- Go to Game Controller Panel.
- Brings up the Game Controller window.
- Click Properties. A test window will pop-up.
- Should work as a wireless controller now.

The above link is to the USB 2.0 Mini Bluetooth V2.0 EDR Dongle Adapter that worked for me.

I know this doesn't seem like a true solution, but why not get a third party controller made for PC/MAC (If they exist for Apple PC's). Then you may not have to run into problems such as these.

well games on pc only have xbox controller suport and special controlers made for pc
eram Aug 7, 2013 @ 5:24am
It's full controller support for supported controllers.

Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows, Xbox 360 Wired Controller, or Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710 recommended.

Sony does not have drivers for PC use. This is not Valve's (Steam's) fault. Sony does not want people to buy controllers to use on a PC. I'm surprised you got ANY game to work with the DualShock3 without using an emulator as people above have mentioned. I used to use MotionInJoy to emulate an XBOX360 and it worked with every game with controller support. I stopped using it because it actually contains some ad-ware that was annoying me.

I have only ever played BL1 or BL2 with a wired 360 controller and never experienced any issues with either game regarding controller support.
