Feel free to post your opinions. (Note: We will NOT do Shields, Relics, or Class Mods due to them being too dependant upon playstyle. Plus most people should carry around multiple options to switch out depending upon different in-game circumstances. Like an absorb shield for fighting bandits but maybe a resistance shield for fighting creatures.)

Lol ease to get as a qualifier, why don't you just list green guns as well? They are pretty easy to get as well.

And this is based on what? Personal expierence?
Das Kätzchen Jul 31, 2013 @ 4:12pm
To any people who want an Infinity without going into UVHM, buying Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, or fighting Pyro Pete: Doc Mercy DOES drop the Infinity, it's just that it has a VERY low drop rate (around 0.07%, if the wiki is to be believed), and he doesn't drop it outside of normal mode, so unless you're ok with a level 8-9, you have to either farm Legendary Loot Midgets or Pyro Pete for it, or get extremely lucky. I have heard a rumor that the Golden Golem from Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, but I can't confirm nor deny this.
The Law also sometimes drops from the Sheriff in Lynchwood. It also has a +100% melee modifier, the second best you can get in the game from a gun, so it's rather useful for melee-based characters. Besides that, paired with the Order "maylay" shield, any melee attacks with it restore health.
Back on topic, though, I find that the Judge is a relatively solid gun for a few levels. It's eventually outclassed by better guns, but for 2-3 levels, it's quite useful. I also like the Rex, if only for the ridiculous damage per shot (sure, it's not practical, but there's nothing like gibbing some poor bandit in a single bullet).

Most likely, but to me, getting in a vehicle and shooting at a target that doesn't fight back isn't too much of a challenge for a gun that heals you by 12% of all damage you do while it's equipped.
That said, I always choose the Sloth. Because I'm crazy.

Because ease of getting wasn't the only qualifier, and even then I doubt any green would make the list because there are just so many decent blues that are just so easy to get.

And yes, personal experience playing every class with most every spec combinations. Thought a list like this would help newer people know where to go or what to do to get some of the best guns in the game.

There are several greens that can outdps these blues and uniques. Anarchists come to mind. Which shouldn't matter anyways, because they are loads easier to get, and according to your standards, that must mean they are better as well.

It's disingenous despite this, because you're basing these judgements on your own playstyle, on your own preferences. These are not the best guns in the game. These are the best guns according to you, and you should phrase it as such.

Well of course the list is going to be bias according to what I know. Ummm... d'uh.

But these are guns that not only I sometimes use, but the people I play with also tend to enjoy using, for many different situations. They aren't sacrificing too much for thier bonuses. They aren't guns you have to spec a certain way, or play a certain way to be able to take advantage of. And yes, this is in my opinion, of course. D'uh.

If you have a certain handgun that you think really works for the everyman, then by all means let me know.

And again, this isn't a list of "must gets" by any means. This is just a simple list of awesome guns for newer people to know what to do to enjoy. And to show there is more than only one choice, so they shouldn't feel so obligated towards playing one certain way. Foremost, enjoy the game! It is a game after all.

I rather Like the Maggie as well, droppable from any loot source(Increased Rate from Mick Zaford) due the the 6 bullets per one round and reminds me of the "Masher" type revolvers from BL1.

On a sidenote, why did you not list the Grog Nozzle on purpose? Its a great heling gun that my siren can actually use to kill something fairly quickly(being slag does quite a bit more to slagged creatures in UVHM). Is this because its a mission only item or some personal preference to the Rubi?

Maggie came close to making my list. I used that gun quite a bit. Definitely would personally pick it over the Infinity. Hate that gun. :p

Didn't include Grog Nozzle because it has too many disadvantages. Plus the only way you can have it is by either not finishing an awesome questline or by "other means." To me and the people I play with, it's more a fun toy than an actual useful weapon. The healing is incredible, but really it's major over-kill. Rubi is just a much more practical gun, not sacrificing as much accuracy and damage for the not-so-needed healing. Playing drunk in-game is fun though!

For me its just a toss-back to the mashers I wrecked things with in BL1 as Mordy.
The grog has its disadvantages, but being able to thunk down a storm front, holding out the grog as a siren and being unkillable unless I get one shot is rather amusing, but it has gotten its fair shair of good uses. One being a Fire Norfleet with a certain skillset and COM with the grogs effect can one-shot Hyperious. Although I will agree with the rubi being more practical ,as its a tad faster, can be something other then slag, and returns enough health with its higher damage as is.
