Still random crashes after such a long time

Heyho
Ive stopped playing bl2 for a while (a long while tbh :D ), now picked it pu again with a few friends. They both run ATI/AMD hardware where im using a NVIDIA gpu.
Now im the only one that gets random crashes, sometimes after 30 mins, sometimes after 2h. I would not mind that much since it loads quick, but i loose all progress since the last save including weapons :<

I tought they should have fixed that by now. Tried also mesing arround with physx but due to the randomness of the crashes i cant tell you for shure, but it seems it did not have any effect (as stated in other posts ive read in several forums).

Temps are fine (both gpu and cpu arround 50° while playing).
Regarding my rig:
Latest drivers everywhere, no beta drivers @ gpu
Gtx 680
i7 2700k something something
16gb ram
win 7 64 bit

I have a single gpu with one monitor, so sli / multi monitor problems can be crossed out.

Any ideas?

You got anything overclocked? (factory overclocked included) If so, try reducing/removing said overclock/s. If my experience is any indication, Borderlands 2 might simply not like it when your hardware's overclocked. (temperature not a factor)

Ive got a Gainward Phantom that uses its stock settings, i cant give you the exact % in OC since i cant remember the reference clocks of a 680 gtx (no im not that nerdy^^) but i never had any problems (very old games up to very recent ones) with crashing. It coulb be as you said but the hassle to downclock my gpu just to play bl2 seems a bit ridiculous. Back when i first played i had a 580, and if im not mistaken i had similar, issues but sadly - i cant remember ho often it crashed.... studying beside work isnt good for you long time memory :D

assuming youre crashing in co op i would be inclined to suggest you blame your ISP

See if this helps: Try changing BL2's processor affinity to only 2 physical cores, (Logical cores 0, 1, 2, 3) in task manager.

i will try what candiebug said, but first i lowered physix as i read in a few posts that this solves the problem, we will see. Since the crashes appear random (in coop 90% of the time) its difficult to reproduce for testing purposes.

You could also have problems with your networking stack, try reinstalling the drivers for your motherboard.

@Network: Why then is BL2 the only problem that creates random crashes?

I have never had a random crash in BL2, so I dont see any problem..

This app will help optimize your games to run at optimal performance, by checking your Hardware and change settings for you in the games.

You can find it here http://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience
You can at any time switch between Nvidia's Optimal settings or your own, so give it a go maybe it will help :)

OP have you tried by any chance deleting the game completely and reinstalling? It could be a corrupt file (maybe a piece of mp networking code).

@JnP: When i fart it does not bother me, so i dont know why others always complain *frrrt*...
@Project28: always had a bad expirience with this app, i can get much better results without and i dont like a tool (even from nvidia) messing with my settings.
@candiebug: i hav honestly not considerd that. I had a 2.5h session yesterday with PhysX on Low without a crash, But only 2 player coop, not 3. So i want first another gameplay session to figure out if its physx or not. Then i will try to reinstall it. I will update you as soon as i had a go on it.

hmm, this DLC is a bit skewiff anyways, i played the main story fine and got to the 5th round of magic slaughter, but since i got there, i can no longer look at my mission tab or it crashes the game....and all the stuff they told us before is crap, this is shortest DLC so far, and tremendously boring, i'm uninstalling it now....oh, and never buying a gobshite game again (unless its under £5)

i would guess that your problems are just caused by laziness on GB's part, when it comes to compatibility and things actually working.....i've seen endless praise for them, so i bought BL1&2 and can say, you see the transition from a decent dev into a money grabbing set of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (after the release of BL1)
