Lvl cap at 39

im 39 on 1st playthrought im been joining lvl 50 rooms to lvl up quicker now it semms i no longer get any more Xp is there a Lvl cap or someone hacked my character ?

Depends on the lvl of the enemy you are facing. If they are substamtially lower than you are, you will no longer get any xp. Suggest you finish 1st playthrough and move on to playthrough 2. Quest with large XP bonus should still lvl you up, so maybe try a side quest and see if you get any XP out of it.

i been joining friends who are 50 & i still get no Xp like 2000 xp shows up & bar stays the same as if i was lvl 50

Go and join a terra kill and if your bar doesn't change then your save is bugged.

Are you playing in Vault Hunter Mode? The quests and mobs there give massive amounts of xp compared to normal
