Why the Siren?

I have noticed that a lot of people I have met recently are using the Siren. Was playing recently and 3 out of four of us were Sirens. I was just wondering why?, I cant drag my self away from the Assasin. I have played with other chars but keep ging back to the Assasin. Maybe it just suits my playstyle.

We're discussing siren issues in the other thread since yesterday I guess, turns out that the best class for UVHM is the one that has the Bee equipped, kinda sad isn't it ?

I gotta disagree. I've had better luck (and less dying) in UVHM with my Mechro. I played the Siren when I first got the game 'cause I played the Siren in BL1, but I've been playing the Mechro since it came out and I've had more fun playing her than the Siren.

The Siren seems one of the hardest to play solo IMO. Her and Zero. As for the most powerful Solo, I'd put all my bets on the Mechromancer. Her special ability and skills are powerful as hell.

The Siren's only hard if you don't spec her to match your play style, which is easy to do early on 'cause you don't know how each skill is gonna work within that style. Yeah, she can be broken as hell in CO-OP, but if you spec her right and give her the right gear, she's deadly in solo play, too. The Mecho is just all-around broken, CO-OP or solo; give her a gun like the Conference Call (or the Pearl Butcher), a Bee shield, and at least 80 Anarchy stacks and she becomes death itself.

Oh I've specced her in all the popular combos. She still doesn't compare to any of the others. (Although I haven't gotten far with Axton yet). Even with Zero, you can use his special to retreat like Lilith in the 1st BL.
Perhaps in UVHM, Maya's got enough skill pts in multiple trees to make her a force to be reckoned with.

Well I'm still playing with my build of her, so I haven't found a balance that works for me just yet, so I donno. But before UVHM the spec I was using was great for solo play.

i have got maya axton and gaige to lvl61 and sal to 52 gaige was awful in UVHM with my TVHM build
which destoyed everything with anarchy anf deferred fibber +bee, but followed advice to go shock tree and bff its much better.
siren was easiest though apart from bloodwing

You know, I think when a Mechro player is saying Siren is best for UVHM, it kinda says a lot.

Yeah that's very sad. Most players don't want a real challenge, they just want to have stuff which is like a cheat so they can say "it was a challange and I made it". The best class in that game is the one which is played by the best players. The best players are those who can play the game like another WOW. You can read everywhere "I made this and that solo" but you never read posts like "I made all without legendarys" or "I made all without the bee-cheat"... At the end it's like some people said. Anyone cares if you made that game, it's your money so do what you want to do with the game.

I don't think the Bee is like a cheat since it has been nerfed. Even if it's not my shield of choice (the Seraph Big Boom Blaster is), i use it quite often and it is a real challenge IF you don't stay behind cover and put yourself at risk (like fighting at close/medium range, rushing through mobs). Using the Bee this way requires to be swifter and more lively than ever, with the constant risk of being downed rather quickly. Does that mean being a better player ? I don't know but it's really challenging, fun and sometimes even stressful. I'm sure Sir Peeshor would confirm that. ;-)
