Since I thought the other thread was a bit underwhelming and convoluted, I decided to make a list of my own. I tried to limit the choices, but might add a list of hms. Constructive feedback is more than welcomed.

Hope you guys find it useful:


SHOTGUNS:


1. Interfacer // +highest dps +accuracy -drains ammo
2. Conference Call // +high dps +accuracy +bullet speed -nothing really
3. Blockhead // +high dps +bullets ricochet +extra splash -fire only
4. Slow Hand // +high dps +life steal +extra splash -slow bullets -drains ammo
5. Heartbreaker // +high dps +life steal -fire only
6. Swordsplosion // +high burst dmg/splash -really slow bullet speed
7. Carnage // +poor man's swordsplosion, but easier to manage
8. Twister // +great at cqc +awesome for zero/gaige -really slow bullet speed -character specific
9. Omen // +poor man's blockhead, but all elements
10. Butcher // +high rof +accuracy +regenerates ammo -average dps

hm: Flakker

PISTOLS:


1. Grog Nozzle // +65% HEAL!!! +good for slagging -practically no dps +/-drunk effect
2. Rubi // +poor man's grog nozzle +/-no drunk effect
3. Unkempt Harold // +highest dps among all vanilla guns +works against almost everything -drains ammo
4. Lady Fist // +accuracy +800% crit.-bonus -low dps without crits
5. Fibber ( 2nd-barrel ) // +fantastic for gaige -not so much for everyone else


SMGS:


1. Sandhawk // +highest dps +bee abuse +dahl burst -slow bullet speed
2. Florentine // +solid dps +works against almost everything +inbuild slag -drains ammo
3. B!tch // +super high accuracy +crit.-bonus -nothing really
4. Plasma Caster ( maliwan, hyperion, tediore ) // +high dps -drains ammo
5. Slagga // +slagging machine -underwhelming dps


SNIPER RIFLES:


1. Pimpernel // +highest dps -learning curve
2. Lyuda // +really high rof +high dps -drains ammo

->big gap

3. Godfinger // +great for mobbing -highly situational -non-elemental
4. Pitchfork // +high dps +similar to sandhawk -drains ammo like crazy
5. Hawkeye // +great for pure sniping -non-elemental

hm: Snider, Longbow, Cobra

ASSAULT RIFLES:


1. Ogre // +assault rifle equivalent to the harold -it's an assault rifle
2. Kitten // +solid dps +life steal -inaccurate

->big gap

3. Kerblaster // +poor man's ogre
4. Shredifier // +really high rof -nothing outstanding
5. Hail // +great for mobbing +life steal -awkward bullet trajectory

hm: Rapier

ROCKET LAUNCHERS:


1. Norfleet // +most powerful weapon in the game +gargantuan splash -drains ammo ( doesn't matter with sham )

->big f*g gap

2. Badaboom // +great all-around launcher
3. Topneaa // +launcher equivalent to the butcher
4. Creamer // +solid dmg +life steal
5. Nukem // +high dmg and splash

hm: Tediore E-Tech, Ahab

GRENADES:


1. Chain Lightning // +insta-heal via grog/rubi +must have for melee zero +regens nade-ammo
2. Magic Missile // +great for slagging +solid dmg +regens nade-ammo -self-dmg in cqc
3. Storm Front // +heals over time via grog/rubi
4. Quasar // +instant singularity effect
5. Fastball // +one-shots stuff at op8 -learning curve

hm: Bouncing Bonny, Slag O-Negative, Slag Singularity, Bonus Package, Slag Crossfire

SHIELDS:


1. Bee // +...hawking +makes almost every gun usable -no defensive value at all
2. Sham // +...fleeting +94% bullet absorption
3. Rough Rider // +must have for salvador/krieg and great for everyone else
4. Antagonist // +great shield for general play
5. Hide of Terramorphus // +must have for melee zero and great for krieg/gaige

hm: Evolution, Flame of the Firehawk, Blockade

My op8 Siren uses the following all at op8 gear


1: CC
2: Rubi
3: Hellfire
4: Norfleet

Shield: Bee (only due to the fact I dont have the dlc for Antagonist)
Grenade: Quasar
Class mod: Legendary Siren
Relic: Skin Of The Ancients

I'd add Meteor Shower or Bonus Package (rough equivalent) in addition to the rest of the nades. Both deliver greatest dps of any other mod especially for area attacks.

But looking over the list I'd have to agree with everything you've chosen. Maybe not the order exactly but you've nailed down the essentials.

People actually use the hail? I shot it once and never used it again, I literally have no idea how you're suppose to shoot that thing to hit an enemy lol

Great list and I like how it's presented. My only complaint would be listing Slagga as "underwhelming dps" when it actually has some really nice dps thanks to it's triple-shot, easily outperforming non-elemental SMGs.

Otherwise, sure there's a couple things I would have liked to see listed (Transformer!) but I can completely understand your choices. Except Bee, but that's another discussion.

Awesome list, and d@mned near in the order I'd choose them, too.

I'd add FotFH for certain Krieg builds (easy to get & massive nova damage), and for some reason I really like the Volcano sniper on my Maya + converge vs flesh enemies.

I've also recently fallen in love with a slag Stalker on my Gaige. I slag everything, toss a Storm Front, and let the Hide of Terra + Deathtrap mop up the mess lol.

Maybe there's more to the Transformer, but the only build I can think of right now is Maya with Backdraft and a shock Slow Hand. Seems a bit too situational otherwise.

As for the Slagga, I mostly had op8 in mind. You're simply not killing things with it on that difficulty level. Only a few items can for that matter.

SMGs miss Baby Maker, Chulainn, Tattler and Actualizer.

These are the best smg's in game.

Topneaa is nice and all, but on anything but zer0 and Gaige, a Tediore E-Tech is eating that launcher for breakfast, it also kicks the hell out of Norfleet on both Axton and Krieg.

Blockade and Hoplite/Tortoise missing from shields.

Pistols need to be updated with a Gunerang, gun is insane on Axton.

I'm still pretty n00b at BL2, but I was able to use a lvl20 Shock element Hail on my Mechro until she hit lvl40. It was just as effective as it started right up till I hit lvl40. That's about the best quest related reward I've gotten besides the Heartbreaker. I already know the Shotgun I want at max lvl will be a Shock Element Conference Call. OP8 if I can get it.

Do Axton's Tediore reloads still work on OP8 raidbosses? Otherwise, it seems a bit limited in usage.

Hoplite/Tortoise reduce your health to 0 at OP8, making them mostly useless. Well, you can health-gate with lower level ones + regen, making you basically invincible. But any dot or splash-dmg will instantly down you.

Gotta do some testing with your other suggestions and might add them as hms.

Axton's reloads work suprisingly good, same as Krieg's.

You can equip Fabled up to OP8 and Hoplites up to OP6 without reducing health to insta-death level, not every single variant's going to work though. Besides Krieg and Sal, all other characters have kill-recharge among their skills to work around DoT's issue.

Ok, did some further testing:

Tediore reloads are pretty impractical for general play. Also, doesn't work too well on raidbosses anymore ( tried Hyperius on OP8 with Axton ).

Tediore E-Tech Launchers are still pretty good ( Sham + Logan's Gun takes care of ammo ). Going to add them as hms. Topneaa is still better for Zero, Gaige and Salvador.

Actualizer, Tattler and Baby Maker ( tested with Legendary Cat ): Not half-bad, but not going to make it into my rotation anytime soon.

Chulainn: Kind of a headscratcher for me. Completely inferior to a Impetuous Florentine aside from ammo consumption. Not nearly as good at slagging as a Slagga. Self-slagging is still a pain on OP8, despite the already low health ( even stray bullets will health-gate...). There is just no reason to take it over either of them ( maybe with a Bee, but Bee + self-slag seems pretty harsh ).

Blockade: Still works for tanking raidboss-novas ( tested with Gaige against Hyperius ). Going to add it as a hm.
