Borderlands 2

Statistiche:
Help a noob out?
I've been meaning to ask you guys which character do you think is best for a noob like me. I've read many threads saying that it's based on your play style so I just wanna add that my play style would be playing it safe or being stealth. I don't like going around shooting and running off, I love seeing the environment, exploring, and taking my time. I don't want you guys saying that I should go with a certain class to get through the game faster as I have bought the GOTY and am planning on doing coop for the most part and getting the most out of this game. Thanks for reading this and hope I get a good response. Also, if I wanted to watch youtube videos for spoilers, I wouldn't be posting here.

This really isn't much of an "adventure" game, but I'd recommend the Mechromancer (or possibly Commando) that way you can let her pet do some of the heavy work giving you more time to just relax and enjoy the views.

Edit: there is no stealth in this game, even with the Assassin's action skill turning him invisible.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. So far this is my list (greatest to least from what I've heard from other threads).

Siren
Zer0
Mechromancer
Psycho
Gunzerker
Commando
I like the same style. I picked the siren? The stock girl... Miya? She can freeze a enemy.
I like stealth play too. It got really fun when I got the sniper rifle with scope. I like taking out a few from far away. Go for a head shot. You can often kill with one shot. You need to. Get up high and make access to yourself a problem, later they will run toward you making this more difficult. But I still do it when I can
Started with commando, didnt have any big problems with it for a starting char...
Moved then onwards to siren & gunzerker with the next chars.
Here's the cliff notes version of each class.

Commando - easiest from beginning to end.
Gunzerker - slight learning curve at first and indestructible at the end.
Mechromancer - slight learning curve at first and mediocre at the end.
Siren - learning curve at first and fairly powered at the end.
Psycho - steep learning curve at first but extremely melee powered at the end.
Assassin - brutal learning curve at first but brutal melee power at the end.

I liked the Commando so much I capped two of them (72) but I mainly use a Zerker. The rest I capped just for bragging rights. I absolutely hate using the Psycho and Assassin (melee), but the Mechro and Siren are a ton of fun.

Keep in mind this is based on reaching level 72 and making an attempt at OP8.

for stealth, i guess zero, focus on sniping, just pick guys off from far away, commando or mech gives a buddy to tank for you while you can snipe if you want. I'm anarchy mech and it's most definitely NOT stealthly.
I'd def recommend the Axton. The turret comes in handy at all points of the game, late game its just usefu for slagging and distraction. The Pshycho is more for fast-paced KILL! KILL!
KILL! Depending on how you set him up (The best way :D)

I personally haven't used the Siren but it looks like fun, Phaselock gets pretty useful.
When I was a noob, I played Krieg. Best. Choice. Ever. You sould too.
I'm just in my first character, 'zerker, so can't speak for the others, but have impressions from hanging out & reading posts here. I love Zerker bc he's so real & uncomplicated - just loves to slaughter his enemies any way he can, has great fun doing it, even disses himself when he takes a fatal hit, couldn't live or die any other way. I'd put him at the bottom of yr list. I think maybe mechromancer (she's next for me) might be at the top, followed by Maya and Zero. But make no mistake - BD2 is all about wiping out yr enemies, either by yrself or in a co-op team - it's how the characters do it that makes them different. If you were on a co-op I doubt yr teammates would tolerate you going off sightseeing while they do all the mission hard work. The whole structure of BD2 rewards killing yr enemies & doing it more & better as the enemies get stronger. Just watch the Intro cutscene & you'll see four of them in action.
Having said that, BD2's graphics & settings are so amazing that you'll get plenty of exploring done, with opportunities to choose a slower pace especially if you go solo, & it's very forgiving to play-you can pause it any time with 1 key, auto saves frequently, you get reborn every time you die, can opt out of any mission or make up your own, & sometimes the enemies even kill each other while you sit back & watch the fun!
I am currently playing with Zerker, who iI thing is great. To learn the game I'd recommend comando. My style is also to take it slow and explore.
Any of the characters can sneak around if you really want to. Zero does come to mind, but his Deception action skill is really only good for combat, not enjoying the sights. I second NewTrolls recomendation for Gaige. DT can handle things himself for a while at the start and you can find a decent position or make a quick grab for boxes and chests before getting back into the fight. Axton is also good because as the most well rounded character, he can handle himself pretty well in most situations and the turret can tank, but is stationary.
I'm playing Mechro.

The giant robot pet you unlock at level 5 helps a lot when you're outnumbered, and you can also use it to draw enemies into the open while you sit in a good sniper spot. >:D

The green skill tree has a lot of beginner-friendly abilities to help with aiming and survivability. Now that I'm more comfortable with the game I'm retraining to use the red skill tree, which has some incredibly badass abilities for causing as much chaos on the battlefield as possible.

This video is a 3-minute overview of the class. No spoilers, so don't worry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TQ3UH40CAM

If you want to play coop and you don't like to be in the middle of the problems probably Maya is the best, she is a great teamplayer and can take a support rol in the rearguard, she can res her mates and snipe.

Zero is great for sniping but as bubbacho said you really need to be good to make him shine and he needs state of the art snipers, because not all rifles work nice on UVHM...well, most of them are crap, and you need very specific and hard to get models...and still then you must be a really good marksman to make it worthwhile.
Thank you all for your responses. I didn't expect to get this much in just one afternoon, so thank you! Also just to clarify, the people I'm gonna be playing co-op with are also sightseeers so I'll have no problems chilling and exploring.

Anyway, after reading all of your responses, my list is like this now (highest to lowest interest):

Siren (phaselock sounds cool, but still dont know how it works)
Assassin (sounds like a ninja character)
Psycho (because one of you said that he has badass melee)
Mechromancer (the pet ability sounds cool but not the exact power im looking for even though deathtrap looks badass)
Commando (he sounds easy to control, i want a class that will give me time to fully utilize their true "colors" and the first three above seem adequate for that)
Gunzerker (as much as i love dual-wielding characters, this is the last since i don't see the need to dual-wield anything here, unless this class lets me use 2 sniper rifles then i'll choose this guy)
