Searching for downloadable content
Do we have to wait for this EVERY time we put the game on? It takes to long and I don't have any dlc...

Yeah, it says "Downloadable Content" though the term is a bit vague. As I understand it, the game searches every time for a series of hotfixes which it applies upon startup. There have been a number of hotfixes since launch which affect all sorts of things in-game. I suppose you could avoid the download search by playing in Offline Mode, but then you wouldn't have the benefit of the Hotfix. All Hotfixes are supposed to be rounded up into a permanent patch at some point, though I don't know how much longer it might be until all permanent patches are finished.

For example, the Lady Fist pistol originally had a +400% Critical Damage modifier but a later Hotfix increased that to +800%. If you avoided the Hotfix you wouldn't have gotten the updated stats. A later patch made the hotfix permanent, eliminating the need to apply that particular Hotfix. Gearbox has been tweaking the drop rates for various items this month, and I'm hoping that soon after they're finished toying around with things there will be a complete and final permanent patch.

It is also looking for DLC. It will always do this, no matter how many or how few DLC you have installed. It sucks, but it is what it is..

if u keep ur game upto date then the "searching for downloadable content" should only stay a second. It stays like 5 secs for me,but ive had frnds say theirs takes half a minute.Hope gearbox makes a permanent patch. :zero:

It can be from 1-2 seconds up to 20 seconds for me, depending upon Hot Fixes, etc. I have a very high speed connection, but 20 seconds is still a long time.
