being in cover all the time is really important, use the right gun for the job, picking optimal weapons for the different enemy types is now essential. Apart from that TVHM is designed to be hard...especially for newcomers. Can you provide any more information by chance?

Usually its a gear issue if you just started out with TVHM....you can ease the pain by using a few chest keys to equip yourself with level-appropriate purple stuff that should help a bit

tvhm is a walk in park try uvhm or uuvhm now thats a challenge

Also, if you pay attention to the level of each enemy type encountered in Pandora; from bandits, Spiderants, Varkids, Skags, to Loaders, Threshers, Scavengers, and Engineers, if they appear to be 5-6 levels ahead of you then you should consider completing side-quests to level up and try again. If they're 2-3 levels ahead then you should be able to wipe them out. Make use of shock weapons or barrels to drain their shields. Blue and Purple weapons will be handy at the start of TVHM. Not sure about white ones.

High cap can be a good thing, but you shouldn't just look at that one stat. I almost never choose a pangolin shield myself.

There are a wide variety of shields. Generally, the higher the cap the longer the recharge delay and the slower the recharge rate. Some really good sheilds have a very low capacity but very short delay and very fast recharge rate, from zero to fully recharged in about a second and a half. Spike shields work well in melee oriented animal infested areas. The Flame-of-the-Firehawk nova shield is very nice. Some offer elemental or explosiave resistance.

Personally, I like blast proof absorb shields around armed enemies and spike sheilds around melee enemies.

Another source of good gear are the unique mission rewards.

TVHM I usually have a Fire/Shock/Corrosive/Slag weapon equipped, for the tougher enemies. Smaller ones I like to use a regular high damage sniper on.

make sure you inspect the gear you are given.. i had several times i was given hacked gear.. it does kill the game when you can 1 shot everythng and never take any damage..

just go slow and try to kill everything in a zone.. you can also do the reset trick to farm zones for loot,xp,money..

OP8 is fun.. takes the game to a whole new level, but even with the best OP8 gear some of the bosses are still trickey.. but fun.. =)

OP 8 isnt hard for the right reasons, its hard because its broken and unbalanced. If OP 8 was more balanced and unbroken but was just as hard for the right reasons i would enjoy it.
