Shield Capacity in UVHM
Does the shield capacity in UVHM even matter? I am a lvl 66 Siren and every creature takes out my shield in 1 or 2 hits.
I tested it with a 250k capacity Black Hole and with a 600k Turtle shield. Both of them get destroyed so easily. For example:If a skag needs 2 hits for the Black hole,he needs 2 hits for the Turtle shield too, which I don't understand.
Should I just focus on the special abilites of the shields?
Thx for the answers.

(sorry in advance for my bad english. If you find any mistakes, tell me,helps me to learn )

Dear Turkpower50,

If survivability is a problem, consider spending some points in Ward, Inertia and (optional) Fleet (for those cases where they do crack the shield and you need to run for cover). With these talents you can simply pick the weakest target that's around, blow that up, and your shields will recharge during the incoming damage bigger enemies do. These bigger enemies you can somewhat stall/control with your phaselock, especially if you use Converge as well.

An interesting option is to get a Rough Rider shield (if you have the Hammerlock exp), spec into Fleet (in this case you skip Ward and Inertia, of course), and focus more on damage talents in the other trees. A grenade with a short timer and a Grog Nozzle or Ruby are advised to heal back up quickly. I personally use a Chain Lightning. That way you can simply run around like a mad (wo)man with a shotgun shooting everything in the face, and if the heat gets too much you either run or heal (or both).

The Sham Worlds_End referred to is somewhat nice when facing enemies that want to shoot you, not so much when groups of melee chumps or skags and the like are after you (in which case Rough Rider, Fleet and a shotgun would be fun to backpedal while shooting stuff as they chase you). Sham combined with a rocket launcher and a pistol that fires rockets is one of the easiest ways of blasting through content, most of the time without really aiming even.

If you're dedicated you could consider getting multiple such sets, and switch itemsets depending on the situation or your mood (if you're tired and just want to blast stuff, go Sham+launcher, but if you want to have to pay attention and move a lot, try Rough Rider with Fleet and see if you can survive).

So in short; focus more on the abilities of the shields, because in UVHM and such the damage is high to the extent that you have to use talents and playstyle to mitigate some of the incoming threats. You can't stand still and let your shield 'tank' for you anymore. Hopefully this helps. If you need help getting these items, you could post a thread in the 'in-game trading' subforum asking who has them.

Best of luck.

I suggest using the Sham shield with the highest absorb chance that you can find.

Thanks for you answers,I really appreciate it.Especially thanks to Mozike for your detailed explanation.I am gonna try the Sham and the Rider and switch them depending on the situation..To play with the Rider seems kinda rough but sounds fun.

In UVHM amount of health more matters than shield capacity. Shield regeneration and delay are matter as well.. Dunno my shields are almost always down, so.. Moxxi weapons help not to die.

Antagonist from TT dlc is durable too and easier (much) to get then Sham (esp good one).
Evolution from pirate DLC can be an alternative for RR, cause it makes up for '20%' defence with more +health posible, some actual shield and +hp regen.

I´m using the bee or the sham when I´m low on ammo
