Anyway as I said, in (too) much words here no need to speak german in an english forum unless you prefer to be ignored by almost anyone except those who understand what you say...
So denke ich: Maybe the OP isn't too great with English, or wants to practice German, if it's his/her second language. Maybe the OP simply wants to address other people who are German, for whatever reason that is only his or her own. Maybe they have to have Steam on English, in order to accomodate some games, to help with learning English, or for family member(s). It's not always so black and white, is what I'm trying to say.
http://translate.google.com
it is a great tool
Although I can understand your arguments, but it's somewhat rude. Imagine I decide to live in germany but don't even try to speak the language. Sure it's not illegal but what will people say when they'll see me.
In a comunity there are rules, true, but there is also etiquette. Sadly, someone who do away with it is rude. That's why I don't speak french in these forum. And when I do, i also put a copy in english. That is beeing polite (I didn't in this thread for obvious reason).
I'm not miss perfect, but I try to respect at least that. I started english with a very bad level and it's by doing those kind of things that I am at this level. I can even be angry in english :)
My point is that with a bit of effort from is side (namely a copy paste in google translate) this thread would have been about the update not the etiquette.
Steam sells all over the world, and the Steam client comes with every major language, yet Vavle didn't put up forums in those languages - How on earth is it rude to write in one's native language? Users from Southeast Asia have the exact same right to post their threads as users from the UK or the US. If anything is "rude" it is users not understanding this and ♥♥♥♥♥ about russian, portugese or chinese threads.
Just ignore what you can't read and move on.
I don't really see the problem.
And the google translate argument works both ways - Why don't you translate a thread's question in a (to you) foreign language if it interests you?
Besides, google translate is garbage, everything that comes out is a grammar nightmare, quite often not even translating key words correctly, making the whole translation useless.
Though for simply querys it is good enough.
This whole language discussion in this thread is more rude (and oftopic) as someone ask a question in his native language. And if this (ask a question in his native language) would be against rules this thread would be moved or deleted already.
Was du beschreibst, klingt nach Synchronisationsproblemen.
---------------------
belphegore is right, and I for one apologize.
On topic: Is it possible that there is something wrong with your cloud-synch?
From what you describe, it sounds as if it loads your cloud saves, which may be out of synch due to the update process. If you use the gibbed editor, try loading your local char saves and see if all is like it should. Could be worth a try.
*Shortened version of the above for the benefit of the english readers in this thread*
