STEAM CLOUD for Borderlands 2 won't sync - wiped PC files
Hi, I'm sure this has been addressed many times but I am still trying to hold out hope to recover my files off the Steam cloud for I have 158 hours + on Borderlands 2 played. I recently had a problem with my SSD that was storing the info my game files were on so it had to be wiped so all local save files are GONE. I started the game up in hopes the sync would fix any problems but the game would not sync. When I force the game to start my high level characters are not there and I would be starting from scratch. Is there any hope in hell of getting a Steam cloud sync to actually work, download whatever it has saved for my game into my newly formatted PC?

You're assuming that the "Cloud" does have anything to restore. That is why Excitable Boy made the "851 posts on the subject.".

So I'll be nicer than Excitable Boy and inform you of your situation. You are screwed, it's your damn fault for trusting Steam Cloud even after hundreds of post on this forum informs you that you will get screwed if you use Steam Cloud.

This is the ugly truth

Wasn't using the cloud, was using local files, but lost them. The dumb part was no backup, fine, but what I was holding out hope for was SOME WAY to use the actual CLOUD backup which will not sync. So if there is a STEAM customer support guy who reads this and wishes to chime in on how I may possibly get an old restore back from the cloud I would love it.

Go to support, odds of the scanning forums for someone in need of help, slim to none.

Funny thing about Steam support, they give you this drop down menu of selections that don't cover things like Cloud sync problems at all, so I don't know how to go about contacting Steam through their current system.

If the files is on Steam Cloud, then when you reinstall BL2, it should have redownloaded those files.

If you want to spend the time and money, you might be able to do a recovery on the HHD itself. Otherwise, nope. It's gone to the digital sky.

If { Wasn't using the cloud, was using local files } then { SOME WAY to use the actual CLOUD backup } sorry very faulty logic there.

Again, if you have the cloud setting turned on. It will automatically download whatever is in your "cloud" for that game when there is no save files. If no save files showed up when you reinstalled the os, steam, and bl2...none is going to magically appear.

Seems like you're wanting a magic wand to magically appear. There is none. Tiny Tina lives only in the game.
