What sold you on buying this gem of a game?

My firend told me to get it. He said it was much better than the first game. I liked the first game but not enough to make me wanna buy the second one. Luckly, I loved the second one a lot more than the first one, so I will get the next game in the series for sure.

I got hooked on this game as soon as I knew it was coming out. Once I got a computer that wouldn't explode running it, I bought it.

This. I didn't enjoy what I saw from the first one so I didn't want any of it, but it was on sale so he told me I had no more excuses.
Tried it because, hell, why not.
Now it's probably in my top 5 most played games ever.

The first one was great, and this one sounded like it was that much better. It was. I preordered it as soon as it was available to and I super raely ever preorder anything (this game was my most recent preorder i think).

Almost three years of playing Borderlands 1.

Second one has better graphics and the movement is much better. Also like the sorting and comparison features in inventory better than first one. It's nice that the mission givers talk to you in BL2 instead of having to read the card (personally, I think this is the REAL reason those who claim BL1 was boring think that BL2 is better). But the shooting and looting are an abyssmal disappointment in comparison to the first game. And the crappy UI. And the terrible balance. And the getting stuck on invisible walls while trying to strafe and fight. And a couple dozen other annoyances.

he's talking about the loot system in BL2 vs BL1. BL one was TRUE scavenging. BL2 is RNG.
RNG, regardless of how many wonderful and tantelizing gems of loots there are to farm are embedded deeply surrounded by garbage to what some refer to as 'artificially inflating' the replayability of the game.

That and in Blands 2, you spend all that time getting that rare drop just to realize it's also complete garbage.
