How do you fix bug where you cant cast cards during any phase?

Playing a 2v2 against the AI with a friend we experienced multiple instances where the game simply stopped accepting input from one of us and more or less ruined / broke the game that we were in.

I was hosting a game and at around turn 15-20 with quite a few creatures on the battlefield on all sides he suddenly became incapable of playing cards. I could still play my cards. He could click on prompts like discard a card, or assign damage, but that was about it. I dont think he was able to zoom in on anything or click anything in his hand. We eventually un-stuck him, somehow, after about 5 turns of fiddling around. Possibly by dragging/dropping an attack, but im not certain.

Has anyone encountered this bug? He thinks that it may have been caused by being zoomed in and reading a card when something was happening in the background. I have experienced a similar bug in single player before as well and would like to figure out what causes it, or how to fix it.

Is there a list of known bugs somewhere and the things that cause them so that i can maybe tread the minefield of UI issues that MTG 2012 seems to have?

Tonight we played 4 games. He as the host got disconnected from his own game during the first one we tried to play. I locked up in the middle second game we played, the game was still running but caught in an infinite loop of pause/unpause sequences until i disconnected. The third game went okay i think, and in the 4th game we lost because he stopped being able to play his cards 30-40 minutes into a grindy creature heavy game.

So yeah.. will probably never get said friend to play MTG again considering how terrible the experience was overall. But id still like to figure out how to get around these troublesome things if possible. Any help from the community here would be really appreciated.
