Basically, forget all about T5, and make a more beautiful T3. And dump the rigid grid placement for buildings that T5 introduced, but sadly it seems to be in T6.
2. You can now use buses, bridges and cable cars. The game is also set on an Archipelago of islands as well, so traffic management has gotten some much needed improvements (it remains to be seen if they are enough, but Tropico's small scale makes it that traffic management is not as important as it is in Cities Skylines).
3. Tropico is, at heart, a city management game and not a combat RTS. That being said, smarter combat AI and some options would be greatly appreciated, but micro-managing your units is not a mechanic that Tropico should use.
IMHO the game needs more political mechanic, because Tropico is not only a urban simulator (like Cities: Skilines or ANNO), but also a political simulator.
- the structure of parliament, parliamentary elections and political factions in parliament
- the structure of ministries
- labor camps for prisoners (farms, mines, lumber camps). Are we dictators or not ?!
- options for action for members of the dynasty (in the Tropico 5 members of the dynasty are useless)
- the death of the members of the dynasty from old age, succession to the throne
- more options for interaction between players in multiplayer (in Tropico 5 multiplayer is empty and uninteresting due to lack of interaction)
- return the various options for the functioning of buildings from the Tropico 4 (newspapers, radio, television, schools, etc.)
If the game will be added only new graphics, archipelagoes, bridges and the theft of wonders of the world, but political mechanics will not be expanded (for the sake of which we are actually playing in Tropico), the game is unlikely to interest the audience to claim the further development of the series of games Tropico.
There's not dynasty in Tropico 6.
It's a pity. The idea with the dynasties was good, but the implementation in Tropico 5 was unsuccessful.

At all:
Please be aware that we are still in development and things can still change and are still subject to change.
So stuff that is (currently) in the game, can still be changed/enhanced, same for everything not yet in the game, but on the paper.
So please stay tuned.
When it comes to building variety:
Specific buildings will have no special appearance and/or many different looks, simply that those buildings can be easily found by the player. But e.g. residentials will not just come along in some different appearances, but will also be affected by the enviroment. So those will have a run-down, look, when there is high crime around, with graffitis. Also researches will have affect on the overall Tropico, as e.g. Satellite dishes will appear on your buildings after they have been researched and many more.
@sherman4ever
First of all thank you for your video! Big appreciation for you passion and dedication for Tropico!
#1 Correct, we do not want to add additional infrastructure that have not been there in previous titles. Tropico 6 should be accessible for old and new players, without setting up new challenges. As Tropico is and always was easy to learn, hard to master.
But really important for us was, to improve, what we had in previous titles, ecpecially due to Tropico 6 being different in its core setting: multiple islands, rather than one. So transportation is and will be key especially between those islands to have a flourishing Tropcio!
#2 Factions are in, just check our Tropico 6 FAQ. Old and new factions and faces to and for their factions, same for nations ;)
#3 As there will be no Dynasty in Tropico 6, this will not be a big deal. El Presidente will be El Preisdente ;)
#4 Definitely having a look into this. But so far, it is hard to promise anything and talk about how it will work in detail in Tropico 6, when in development.
#5 Correct. If it is called Almanac, or whatsoever does not matter so far, but what matters is, that the player knows what is going on in Tropico and in all detail, no matter if single Tropican, economy, housing,... there will be detailed stats, as those are key of Tropico!
