My Screen is Black

I bought NS2 and installed it. After that i wanted to play the game but my screen still keeps black. The Game doesn´t start.
Is that a known problem? What can i do?

Same thing is happening to me on Windows 7. I run the game but it's just black.

i have the same issue when starting the game,the interesting part is that my steam overlay ingame works,just the screen is black.also i got windows 7.

Does alt enter bring it into windoewed mode or make any changes to the black screen? It's a long shot but I've had instances where I can play windowed mode but not fullscreen.

What is wrong with a BLACK screen? I find that offensive because it is racist. Oh well, the internet is full of trolls and such.

I'm having this issue as well. Has worked fine all up through the beta up til the most recent patch. Will post back if I find a fix.

Figured it out! Delete the "%APPDATA%\Natural Selection 2" folder and start the game up again. You will have to reconfigure all your settings/keybinds again.

Same here, black screen on start up... I can alt+ent to get windowed yet it wont go full screen without crashing... however I can play the game in windowed mode...

Now the very same issue has infected CSGO! - was running fine yesterday - but after installing NS2 it too now starts in black screen & wont run full screen!

What a f**kin hassle! >_<

Well I'm finally up & running, yay! no more BSoD's... But my machine really struggles with NS - I can only hope they carry on with performance / optimisation updates.

thanx for the tip with the windowed mode,it worked for me.

try run NS2 as Admin and/or re-validate your NS2 data via steam... and/or some specific .NET Framework (and/or Visual C++ Redistributable missing)... and/or if u ve Adobe Creative Cloud installed, disable it.
