the orginal ns was windows but had a lot of linux folks volunteraily supporting the ns community so it only makes since that linux gets the port 1st how ever with that said mac compatibility is in the works so soon it wont matter because eventually everyone will be able to play together regardless of all the pc linux mac wars of our is better so you should have got ours instead

It looks like development on OSX costs more than on Linux. Furthermore, most players of the similar games: Tremulous and Unvanquished are on Linux, they might be thinking of converting them to NS2.

Not sure about costs, but according to a game developer with whom I have spoken, developing for Linux is actually easier than developing for Mac OS.

There are mac computers that can run this game?

because the Linux revolution has begun

Because macs suck?
And btw, it should be Linux and OS X.

Because a Mac version is planned but linux was released first as it is generally regarded as superior.

There *is* a larger market for OS X. However, if anything, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. So, Linux was first. It could have also been the: Since we're porting the server to LInux we might as well do the client too while we're at it.

NOTE: I always love how people get to bigoted about OS X. Seriously, look at what hardware the Macs have before spouting.

Two games that are native on OS X that might interest people: Max Payne 3, Bioshock Infinite.

No, it was shown in a report that Steam released a while ago that Linux users spend more money on games than OSX users.

Explain how macs suck, please? Without using the word gaming in every sentence.

I do hope that was a joke because if not, you are retarted.

Macs "Suck" in their words because they fail to be compatiable with many games (like this one), tend to have flashy, high ram-requirement operating systems that reduce your performance (Although windows has been doing it too lately with vista and windows 8) and they tend to be locked to a factory standard with a few rigid "customization settings". You really don't get the ability to do anything to your mac. The difference in customization between mac and PC is like the difference between PC and linux, if you have ever used linux.

Butthurt Mac user detected.

Funny how you say im a butthurt mac user. I love your ignorance. Actually, I own both a high grade PC and a Macbook Pro. Macs are better, in my opinion. I rarely ever use my PC, even when I want to get a PC only game. I just dont like them.

I have both a high grade PC and a Macbook Pro. I prefer macs. Macs can do a ton more, with the only exception being gaming.

Then use your high grade PC to play the game. What is the point of this thread?
