A pet peeve of mine is their self-advertising/blog in the game. I appreciate the developers being enthusiastic about their game (which is clearly the case and which benefits the community greatly) but I really wish I wouldn't have to read about them having received a batch of t-shirts or whatever nonsense they put up every time I open the menu of my *paid* game.
But yeah it is there and can't be taken away from what I know
Regarding the twitter feed, we have actually discussed wanting to have a separate twitter feed in game, that would allow us to mark a tweet as something that shows up in the game menu, or not. That way the tweets that are less important and don't pertain to the game, such as talking about the t-shirts, would get filtered out, and only ones ones regarding stuff like the latest patch, or a game breaking bug that we are working on fixing, for example, would show up on the menu. However, it is rather low priority, in comparison to stuff like improving performance, so not sure when this will get done.

Imagine you were on sale, but the sale has ended yet still there is this message on the bottom of the menu.
