Skulk vs Marine 1v1
If you could play yourself under current build which would win?

Not looking for a debate really, because I do know the game isn't a 1v1 match system. It's just a simple question on if you think your skills as a marine or a skulk is stronger. Starting Marine and Starting Skulk just to simplify it.

Depends on the situation! I'd say Marines as I could start gunning down a skulk before he even gets close enough to bite me, but I'd also say skulk if I were waiting above for an ambush.

Having dominated probably 80-90% of the games I've played in combat as marine...ranged>melee...bows>swords. As long as you are always ready with your aim from where the skulk will jump out of, you should win most of the time. But it all depends on the map architecture, skulks in some situations (close corners/vents) will kill you before you have any time to react.

But yeah, get a team of nothing but the best marines; and watch them all stand in the hive within the first 5 mins obliterating everything. (I've seen this happen once recently on refinery were we had nothing but top players.)

Skulks are clearly not favored since the 250 movement mechanic change (I keep insisting on it), but player/team skill and especially STARTING locations will greatly influence the outcome of a game.

We played a map on FUFU server yesterday that was a modded version of summit made as one big straight corridor...it was impossible to win as an alien. You have to flank, any frontal attack will result in eating humans supreme technological weaponry. (exos, *cough*)

Edit: to answer the OP's question...eh against a team of marines that can't shoot, I can kill 5 marines alone as a skulk; on the other hand. How good you perform as a marine is dependent on the support you get from your commander...so basically why I prefer to play as a marine rather than a skulk; bad marine commanders (90% of them) who suck at medpacks and scanning can ruin your battle performance.

My skills with sg/jp are my greatest strength (stop going exo to practice), skulks don't hold a candle against that unless they have xeno; but you can still kill jp'ers with leap if the marine doesn't get meds.

Summary: There are SO many factors that determine the outcome of battles, but starting marine is weak without meds and gets stronger even near-unbeatable with meds/scans, sg/jp & upgrades; until skulks have xeno. Then marines are doomed to die.

Pretty much depends entirely on positioning and nearby map/room layout.

I know as in alien in a 1v1 (Combat mode). I would win against 90% of other players. and on an average game i get around 60+ kills easy. As a marine, I'm screwed...

Assumung no ups, about equal skill

LMG, marine if skulk is far, skulk if close
GL, skulk
Flamer, marine
Shotgun, marine (or skulk if shotgun hitreg is bugged)

With ups, W3,A3, cara, phantom etc on skulk
LMG, skulk cause of free phantom bites
GL skulk
flamer skulk
shotgun marine, but still higher chance of skulk


Assumuing general public skill level
marine if I'm marine
skulk if I'm skulk
