There's a multibuy sale on at greenmansgaming atm, maybe you want to pick it up there. Otherwise, there will certainly be a sale for the one year anniversary on the 31st October.
ooh sale on the 31st? Is that on all websites? Is it bound to be a big sale? like 80% off?
:(
When I read posts like these I usually check out the game time of the poster and expect something around 1-20h. I was really surprised to see you played nearly 200h of this game and still think Skulk rushes are a balance issue! Sure, they can be effective, but they rarely work with an aware marine team. And if they do, the round is at least over within a minute and you're good to go for another try. If you really think there's gonna be a Skulk rush, ask your comm to drop an early Observatory for beacons.
Sure, if you "let the marines", they will steam role you. It's the same thing with aliens though :) Just try to not let them, that's the whole point of the game!
For example, instead of trying to rush their base early game, bite down some res towers as a Skulk, because that is what you should do.
The real problem are either stacked matches (and ppl that keep stacking after one unbalanced game - hate them!), or matches with unexperienced comms/players that keep dragging on, when one team is already down to a few rt's (ressource towers) and one tech point.
I've had alot of good, balanced matches lately though (it wasn't always like that).
And Mariens can steamroll over aleins if your team sucks.
Depends on the patch number. Some patches are way more balanced than others. Patch 243 had 4% difference in win rates. Build 256 had as 12% difference in win rates.
'Pro' teams by what metric?
And if marines didn't have enough map intel or wherewithal to potentially catch out a base rush or have a comm that realizes that he should probably beacon if there's half a dozen red dots approaching his main base, he probably wasn't very good to begin with, or made a critical error somewhere that left an opening for aliens to exploit.
That doesn't exactly make the game hugely imbalanced. Cheese base rushes happen in SC2 world tournaments as well, but that doesn't make the game imbalanced because someone pulled off an early all-in base rush that caught their opponent off-guard.
Too bad more servers don't have the KDR plugin to prevent this. The problem with this is that it sometimes ranks good support players who get solid KDR when a key players is on their team
highly. Place a bunch of support only players together and they're going to get mauled. However, that's still better than the stacking that otherwise happens.
so i gues you dont care for yourself right?
