Yes, but your experience will be extremely poor. Often fights come down to who has the better split second reaction time. Using a gamepad will ensure you're going to have a poor experience.

You could, but I wouldn't. There's no aim assist like what is commonly implemented for gamepads in FPSes, and movement patterns are far more unusual and unpredictable than a typical FPS. It will not end well without being able to quickly change direction to any point in your field of view at a moment's notice.

Bluntly put but still has a point. Why you'd want to severly gimp your ablity with a controler is beyond me. It's fine on a console where EVERYONE is gimped, but you'd just get torn apart by the worst keyboard/mouse player using a controler.

Yeah I'll just repeat what Daxx has already said. Controllers are just known to be inferior even in basic shooters like Call of Duty. Here, if you used a controller, you would get absolutely DESTROYED. You need a mouse and keyboard to keep an average pace because the game requires very precise aim.

Which is true if you don´t mind the predictable, incredible stupid, frustratingly shallow ai.
You can enjoy those shooters than. Does not work when your opponents are humans with superior controls.

Ahhh casuals/consolers trying to have fun. Sorry guys - not gonna happen. Just give up. Controllers in a game released specifically for PC gaming are a lost cause. You will be brutally destroyed and laughed at. You will be in great disadvantage against K+M users. You will have no chance with low accuracy and speed. You will be at the bottom of scoreboard and you will get frustrated. You gotta realize that FPS games released exclusively for PC are played almost by 99,9% of the K+M users. That "almost" is you and 15 other guys.

I keep seeing such topics on Red Orchestra 2 / Rising Storm forums and it still baffles me - who in the right mind uses a joypad in heavily competitive PC exclusive game?
Same topics appeared in CS:GO forums - and this game is the pinnacle of competition. I'm not against joypads and joypad users, but it simply makes no sense. You gotta realize that controller is simply a NO. ♥♥♥♥ bricks but you will not enjoy the game cause you will constantly die and you will be a burden to your team.
Now if you still insist on using it - go and do it, just don't come back crying.

Yeah that was hilarious. Was universally predicted that would happen too when they anounced the "glorious PC/Console" crossover too. Que absolute zero shock other then the devs I guess.

I play all singleplayer FPS games with a controller. I agree that in competitive FPS a keyboard and mouse is better but if he wants to play with a controller then it's his choice. To each their own. Don't be so ignorant and rude without a reason.

Competive console players to PC is like competitive Pewee sports to College level. Both are fun, for thier players in thier brackets. Throw em in the same pool, and the results are laughable.
