By rookie servers I assume you mean the green "rookie-friendly" servers. Anyone can play on them, Its just supposed to mean that rookies are welcome to play on it. As for the abuse, that's an issue that probably came with the 1 dollar sales; large ammounts of new players are filling up every server including the non-rookie ones, making current players extremely frustrated.
Also based on how much you exaggerate in your post I wouldnt be surprised if you were raging in all chat in the first place.
So you're saying that the only reason they raged at me is because I started it....... ok then.
All I did was type "how come as alien I die really quick but as marine it takes ages to kill an alien"
Then the reply was " f**k you, you just suck"
But hey, you can think what you like.
I guess I will just practice more and see if things improve.
@Ey3ball thanks will check out the video.
A big tip i always notice rookies forget when dealing with aliens is they fire all their ammo in one go instead of burst fire shots, be more careful with your shots and and if you run out of ammo when the aliens come at you quickly switch to your Pistol and start jump/strafing from left to right.
What i found difficult to get my head around at first as a marine was predicting where a sculk is jumping to and aiming there rather than where the sculk is, kind of leading your target so to speak.
If you dont get used to doing this you will waste most of your bullits shooting behind the sculk, kind of chasing him about with your bullets, try to bring down a lerk or fade without leading to some degree with the smg, lol, good luck.
One of the problems with the server/client is a weird half second delay, its difficult to explain but you find yourself dieing for example before you have reacted on screen, its kind of like you run around a corner to get away from bullets but you still die even though you are out of the way round the corner.
You do get used to it in the end but it bugged the hell out of me when i started playing, you learn little things like not sitting still and chewing a resource tower, you keep moving as you bite because by the time you see a marine come into the room on his screen he would have already fired of a few and you will be dead before you react.
Back up. Lots of rookie players rush skulks. Makes no sense. It would be like trying to rush a lion when you have a rifle. Also, learn to side jump. Back jumping doesn't do much and gets you killed often.
Also, they cannot kill you with 3~4 bullets. Rifle does 10 per shot, so that's like 10 shots if you have full armor. But a rifle can burst out alot of bullets very quickly.
Many rookie marines also bunch up which makes it harder to shoot anything. Spacing out lets you cover each other.
As for the rookie serviers, that doesn;'t mean anything. Only admin enforced Noob Only servers are full of rookies.
