If you enable the PhysX indicator @ 3D settings in the controll panel and start NS2 you see following:
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/attachments/video-cards/13175d1298775908-physx-notification-overlaying-game-_mg_0640.jpg (this is a screenshot from another game, you see the same with NS2)
What dePARA is referring to is purely whether Physx is being handled by your CPU or GPU.
Enabling Physx to utilize your GPU through your NVidia control panel is not the only step required to enable it. There's also a setting in game. Physx GPU acceleration.
*However*, It is currently not working correctly and will default to the CPU every time.
I have added this to our list of things to work on :
https://trello.com/c/A10ZVuN8/768-fix-physx-gpu-acceleration-not-working
But finally it gets some attention after the long time.
Also, physx is not really an important part of the performance in ns2, so moving it to gpu would only cause issues, with very little or no benefit.
