So... NERF the Marines please.
If I were to put down a list of the issues Aliens ALWAYS have against them, this list would be way too long. I want the game to be fair and balanced, and I want to enjoy playing Alien and not be bored playing Marine.

It is balanced, your just not playing alien right.

What's wrong with the marines?
Azure Zero Jun 25 @ 5:01pm
I bet he's not walk/ceiling climbing or using the stealth function of a skulk.
And does not know how to properly use the other alien life forms or each form's tactics.

Being a good alien also requires that you know when to retreat, how to position yourself for an ambush.

I hear this all the time, but it's false. I wall jump, I sneak, I do everything. It doesn't matter at all if there's a marine in a vent camping with landmines and a shotgun. If there is the slightest hint of lag, marines win, why? Because they can spray and pray. You can't "play alien right" if the entire team is disjointed, and that's the issue. A marine team being disjointed is a minor inconvenience, but OH GOD if you do it as an alien, you're done, and this always happens because people don't communicate, EVEN on the marine teams. I wall jump like mad as a Skulk, but it doesn't matter because they can spray and pray. Seriously, it takes no effort. I even went marine with my buddy, we just spammed cluster grenades, kept welding each other and exosuits, and we just shot down hallways willy nilly. We literally did nothing other than clump up, spam grenades, and shoot all over the place. You can't do this as an alien, and you can't counter it as an alien. It's incredibly easier to build, fortify, and even re-fortify an area as marines too. At the bare minimum, Marines win, which is an issue because even if you resource block them they can keep doing their marine thing. We COULD attack their resource towers, but that means nothing in the case of one marine with a shotgun spamming his *** off. The game is fun, but it needs some SERIOUS re-working. This is Starcraft II all over again.

Any team facing another team who has superior team work is likely going to lose. Doesn't matter which side. Marine teams who can't work togehter get mauled by packs of skulks. Even 5 ground skulks aganist one marine will end badly for that marine.

And ALiens are not suppose to front rush exos or GLs. They're suppose to flank. If you're boxed in and getting GLed, you're going to lose because you let them do that. And fortifying takes time which lets the aliens grab more territory. A good pair of skulks can actually cause marines to lose money on RTs as they take them down before the commander can recoup the cost of the RT.

Sounds like you've been either playing on no team work aliens or aganist stacked marine teams. That's not a sign the game is unbalanced, only that people cannot work together or ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s are stacking.

Flanking is nearly impossible thanks to poor vent work, marines shouldn't be able to get into them, only fire and throw grenades into them.
Hobocop Jun 25 @ 7:52pm
Sorry, no. Flanking is map and engagement dependent, and claiming it's nearly impossible when you have supreme map mobility as aliens through gorge tunnels and generally better on foot movement options is pretty much a lie. There's nothing stopping you from using the main corridors to flank if marines want to waste their time camping vents.

At some point you cannot flank, but by then the game is already lost. Once you're boxed in and they're coming with JPGL and Exos or both entrances to your base are full of alien support structures, the conclusion to the game was already written.

For most of the game, most of the vents are alien only or require marines to position themselves in very vulnerable positions (aka, standing on each ohter's heads) to get into vents.

Vents lose their value once you're boxed in, but by then you've already lost the game. And vents go both ways. Marine teams have turned games around by having a player with a jet pack use a vent to get around the map and build a backdoor phase gate.

On Veil, the skylights vent until jetpacks is a one sided alien affair of total and absolute trolling. If I'm commanding marines, I don't bother building skylights until Overlook is secured. Aliens simply can abuse that vent to an absurd amount.

For most of the contested part of the game, vents are highly useful tools of aliens and are placed in a balanced way.

I get that the generation of shooters largely never got trained to think stragetically (I've played at least 1,000 hours of Starcraft 1), the whole CoD/BF/Halo/Counter Strike is just find enemy and shoot them. Titanfall MAY change this due to emphasis on vertical enviroments, but NS2 requires players to think before attacking and it's partially why it's never going to be a popular game. It just runs contrary to what most people expect of shooters.

The key problem with new players playing aliens is they treat the alien as if they were a marine. Front ground rushing doesn't work where flanking ceiling ambushes do.

1st tip: Dont play on the wooza 42 cluster♥♥♥♥ server. The game isnt designed for that ammount of players.
Here is a video of an experienced player, playing there (listen to his comments):

2nd tip: give things time. Its normal that you have a hard time in the 1st 50hrs.

One marine is enough in that tight of a space. You can't flank through corridors because of server lag, they just spray and pray and it works unfortunately.
Hobocop Jun 25 @ 11:41pm
If server lag is your only excuse for why you can't flank through main corridors, you need to stop playing on laggy servers.

Please, try finding a server on West Coast with 16 or more people that has space for 2 people. With low ping and isn't Rookie Only. That's my situation, it isn't fun. Once you understand how server lag works across multiple users, maybe you'll understand how it drastically changes gameplay. I seriously get shot by pistols when they're jumping in front of me with their backs turned, it's utterly unacceptable.
Azure Zero Jun 26 @ 5:36am
See if any Central servers are a good alternate for west coast,
But see if you can get friends to login at the same time,
once a server reaches 4-6 players people start joining it.
