This is completely crap.
I used to play NS1 since early 2001(?) 2002 ~ late 2006, At least 2500hours.
If NS2 just copy NS1 exactly and re-design graphic part / quality as half-life 2 source, That would be better than current situation.
This is totally catastrophic.
If there is someone else still play NS1, I'll try that again.

I don't understand your post.. Is the poor optimization that worries you? Or is it just general gameplay.

Both.
Worst optimization(minor - If You use new GEN IV I5 cpu or better with 270x or 660) & crappy balance / contents(major reason)

NS1 allow all-round better completeness quality. The Only matter is graphic quality for now.

1. Building place(put sensory chamber in vent hole or defence chamber in there), Welding spot to lock(seal) / unlock specific vent / door for tactical advantage.

2. Well balanced. There was pretty often 2hours + neck-and-neck match.
singapore,south korea NS1 player group.
1hive->3hives->1hive->3hives then lose or win.

3. fair grenade (10 resources for 2 frag grenade, easy to take down skulk in ventilation)
Jet + HMG/SG/GL or focus + carapace + celerity fade / skulk.

This game make me remind (not only me, most ex NS1 players) It's just wasted sequel.

I am enjoying this game alot. The upcoming patch should help alot of people with optimizations/hitching (including me). The one thing that I noticed with this game is that 90% of the time the game is decided within the first 10 mins and everything after that is a prolonged defeat/victory.

To be honest i have never played a game that i have loved, and which sequel i have loved as well:P. I never played ns1 so I didnt have that problem with ns2.

The reason why sequels are so different is propably because you can't really copy an old games mechanics to another engine. Doing so, and missing something important because of engine limitation would result in a total failure.

Also as a developer you propably like to create something new than copying old, it sounds really boring work doesn't it? Even if you would have the same engine you still really need that passion to create something new.

A lot of players/customers think they know what they want but they usually don't. Take a look at WoW, many of the things that people ask for are bad for them and the game in the long run.

Simply put, your subjectivity is greatly affecting your objectivity and judgement. As a result, your feedback is completely and totally irrelevant.

Nostalgia is an extremely distracting motivator that tends to highlight our past experiences as being good without accounting for the bad. I used to play AvP2 at a competitive level, I logged thousands of hours into it but even though I loved it and still sometimes wish I could go back to that community, I know that a lot of things in that game I would absolutely hate now.

Are you refering to the people who say "Bring back Vanilla/BC!" with how all the systems worked? If so, I agree with you, these people have no clue what the game actually needs.

If thats not what you mean, Im sorry. (Im a BC player. I never want to go back to BC. Ever.)

Wait... You have 100 days of gameplay for a game you don't even enjoy? Or was that a mistranslation?

No, he's referring to LFR, the removal of social interaction requirements to run dungeons, addition of idiotic features which removed depth and immersion, and last but not least - flying.

What's the problem between '170hours playtime' and 'complain about crappy quality when compare with NS1 which one I play over 2500hours'
If You had never play NS1 You will never understand How NS2 is sucks, It's just wasted sequel.

I played NS1 to death and loved how popular it was until it died.
Played tfc/cs a lot too (not as fun).

But now you see how tf2 has evolved.
NS2 feels like a mess, sure you can play and get good at it, but it hasn't evolved or realized it's pitfalls soon enough.

There is no motivation to keep playing these too-often frustrating matches with boring guns / mechanics.
