NS2 crashes about every 5 Minutes

Hey NS2-fans,

in the last few days I m suffering from an increasing number of game-crashes when playing NS2. I was ALWAYS able to play NS2 withouth any problems, crashes, freezes, etc.

But about 3 days ago it all started outta of nothing.

Whats curious is: my game crashes very often after dying and while respawning/waiting for respawn (maybe it´s just random).

NOTHING of my PC or software was changed so I don´t think it has got something to do with it. But there was also no (noticed) updated of NS2 right before my dilemma started.

I tried verifying game cache (no corrupted files), deleting the mod-folder (under "/Appdata/etc.") and also reinstalled the whole game. Nevertheless I doesnt work :(

Hope someone can help me!

My sys:
i7-4770K
Asus 280X
16GB DDR3-1866
NS2 is installed on my system-partition (Samsunsg 840 Pro)
OS: Win7 Pro 64bit

I´m using the DX9 render-path, GPU Memory 2GB+, no beta-in-game-stuff enabled

All PC-overclock was removed, but it´s still not running.

Same here, crashes all over the place, nothing changed except the last patch and its"optimization". Never had a problem like this before.

Are you using ANY mods or workshop items?

I use only the basic game. And the time between my 2 comments is the time I could play before the next crash.

I would turn off the following;
In Graphics:
Turn off: Wait for Vsync
Set texture Handling to 1GB, ( If every thing works after this try 1.5GB)
Turn off Atmosphereics
Turn off Ambient Occulsion
Turn Off reflections
Turn off Shadows
Infestation is set to minimal

In General:
Set "Show Hints" to Off
Set Physx GPU Accel to Off

Hey guys, I have the same issue. Neither dx9/dx11 nor minimal graphic setting worked for me. It has to be an issue from the graphics card, cause I had the problem with my old pc since the 267 build. Then i bought a new pc (everything new except the graphic card) and I already have the same problem....

I was told the solution:

DISABLE HINT AND COMMANDER TIPS!!

Where to find:
Settings -> General :)

Now the game runs perfectly smooth!

Graphics-settings dont do anything for me, but the hint/coammander-tip system fixed it :)

One guy on my server told me, it´s a known issue and will be fixed with the next upcomming patch. Unfortunately many players are suffering from it, but only a few know the answer.

So tell all of them how to fix it, before NS2 is losing players ;)

I already disabled hint and commander tips, switched off the physx GPU acceleration and tried to play with minimal graphics, but it didn't worked. I furthermore heared that hint and commander tips has to be switched off when the crash just appears at the same moments (e.g when activating armory or enter gorge tunnel). But in my case the crash seems to appear randomly.

Do you have texture handling Off or set to a size?

Have you updated the drivers from the MANUFACTURE's website, not through windows.
As windows gives the worst driver for graphics cards.

I already verify integrity of game cache and loaded the last drivers from ATI, but that also didnt worked^^.... but it looks like that many players have the same problem... i also could'nt find any fix at google (maybe due to the small ns2 community)... maybe the next build will fix the problem
