My game files do not match the server's?
After every or every other map change I get kicked off the server and get the message "Your game files do not match the server's. Try verifying your game cache in Steam, or maybe an update just came out" and I'm unable to reconnect until I've verified the game cache through steam.
I've never had this problem before at all or anything close to it, this started happening 2 or 3 days ago when I started playing again after a few months break. I've tried reinstalling and resetting everything to vanilla settings. Nothing seems to be working.

Any tips or ideas?

Do you have win xp 32bit. Then this is sadly a kownn issue which is not going to be fixed so soon.

It has something to do with the new hash method uwe included a few month ago.

It only happens at win xp 32bit and is also not high piority for cdt as nor many ppl with win xp are around playing ns2.

Only way to fix for you is to upgrade your OS.

Some server use lighten up consistency checks which lower the risk of this happening mostly happens at male.model and female.model .

So try to find some of those if upgrading the os which you should do anyway as win xp doesn't get supported by microsoft anymore.

ACtually >> many players with NS2 in Asia play on Window XP

Why ? Cuz we dont want to "feed" Microsoft on their next Windows Vista (fail) , 7,8,9,10 .vvvv
