Viking Conquest: Reforged Edition - Welcome Open Beta (Steam)

Hello all!

This is just a small notice to let people know that Reforged Edition has entered open beta. We are really excited that the Brytenwalda team has put together such a huge content update and that we'll be able to give it to all Viking Conquest players for free!

Much like the patches, we have opted to go the route of providing this expansion via Steam's open beta system, which does mean that those playing non-Steam versions will have to wait a little longer before we release the full version. Everything should be working pretty well right now but just to make sure the release goes smoothly, we wanted to give early adopters a chance to get their hands on the game and try it early so we can find out if there are any urgent issues. Obviously, you enter the beta at your own risk and while the expansion has been created to be savegame compatible, we advise you make backups of any save files etc. - before trying Reforged Edition.

If you do decide to opt in, any feedback or reports you can offer in this thread would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That aside, we really hope you enjoy all the new features that this new edition offers (woof!) and we expect to be fully releasing it in around 2 weeks.

Instructions for opting into the beta on Steam:
(You remember that you can also use your Warband Key in steam if you bought your game from Taleworlds webpage)

In the Steam Library, right click "Mount & Blade Warband" and select "Properties"
In the window that opens, navigate to the "BETAS" tab
In the "BETAS" tab, where it reads "Enter beta access code to unlock private betas:", enter the code reforgedbeta exactly as shown
Click "CHECK CODE" and upon confirmation that the beta has been successfully opted into, select "reforged" from the dropdown menu on the same screen
Close the window and allow the game to update
The Reforged Edition beta should now be activated

BUG: In sandbox mode, upon asking to become a vassal and being denied, the option to ask again disappears entirely, even from kings other than the one you asked initially. Even upon reaching the required renown, the option will not reappear.

Steps to reproduce: Create a new character in Sandbox mode, ask a ruler for vassalship and be denied. The option will now be gone from the dialogue menu.

Bug in story mode, when attacked in first scene on boat character is kicked off the boats into the water and drowns as soon as the attacking boat connects. (new game)

Bug in battle on land, when ordering all troops to move and stay at a new position using F1 F1 a few troops were stuck at spawn and could not follow the rest of the army. (converted old save)

Feedback: Good job. Noticed many improvements. Much more polished game overall.

Where i receive my reforged beta code?

so far it's running smooth, no crashes, no bugs encountered. Just loads of fun. Great work! Keep it up. Gonna play something serious until Bannerlord is released (Early April 2024)

Bug: During battle after using the special berserker ability "Battle rage", a message "The strength is back" will start popping endlessly.

Yes I was able to do the conversation with the captain and all other story before that. Then the enemy boat approached. I was kicked off as soon as the enemy boat made contact with ours. After drowning woke up and talked to healer's son as usual. I know that in this case it makes little difference for the story but others might be surprised and confused.

As roelan said, Once you added pass to beta area, reforged is applied auto.

BUG: Chatlog disapears after big fight. It's starts to disapear at the begining of the fight and after a while it comes back.

No bug, this was limit for no sature the screen with msgs.

I think I was in the middle of the boat. It was not like a normal fall from the side of a boat anyways. I flew through the air for some distance before falling into the water. Perhaps a physics bug?
