Ars Technica Sent Me
I just read an article about this game on Ars Technica, and then bought the game immediately afterwards. Steam says it is similar to a game I love (X3: Terran Conflict), and I highly doubt that. I'm looking forward to building up a thriving city on perhaps my third try. :steamhappy:

Fantastic! :steamhappy:

Haven't tried X3, though from looking at it, I don't see the resemblance ...

I don't see the resemblence either. X3 is about flying starships, fighting, trading, exploring, pirating, and limited building (making space stations to manufacture/supply/trade/shipbuild).

Your game is about making a place for humanity to thrive or die out. In X3 I can stop threats to the various races, or ignore the main plot. In Aven Colony I either succeed and thrive, muddle and middle, or fail and die. Ignoring is not an option. :D

Was reading the article as well and just preordered the game. Looking forward to it!

Same here. I haven't bought it yet but, I think I will. Gonna watch some videos first.

My only question/concern is about depth.

Saw it on ARS as well, couldent help think of Outpost back in the day of the 486 (i think?), from the rosy glasses of childhood I hope Aven rekindles that imagination
