I'm reading the board right now and it looks like the game hasn't been working right for 3 months. Up to now, it seem mostly having to do with the gold edition.

I was considering buying the complete heroes VI edition for my wife, since the price has gone from 50$ to 40$. Can anyone confirm that this edition function properly, or is it another drm nightmare that won't let you play the campaign you paid for?
What I can say, is that it works perfect for me.

But I know I am one of too few, a lot of people have trouble with the game.

When this is said - I love the game.
Beautiful graphics, great gameplay, fun, decent storyline ( as always - except for HoMM IV, with fabulous storylines! Love that game :))) ) .
So my suggestion is : if you can afford for the game to maybe not work, - Me, I would still buy it.

He, thanks for the answer. ^^ But 40$ for a game that doesn't work is pretty expensive. I'll wait for someone to announce that they have corrected the problem or get something from their competition.
If others have tryed the complete edition, wiether you got it to work or it doesn't, I'd like to hear about it.

Also, I found some guy stating that the following solution could correct the problem for some peoples:

1) go to the folder where the Ubisoft GameLauncher is installed, usually "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher"
2) in that folder create a file named "qt.conf"
3) with a text editor open "qt.conf" and enter the following three (3) lines:
4) save the file
5) start the game and enjoy...hopefully.

Let me know if it help anyone.

If your going to purchase the game just ensure that you have downloaded and properly installed Uplay before attempting the Download of the main game.

You can play the offline version fine at this point. However there are still a myriad of bugs in the online dynasty version that make it extremely frustrating. If your wife doesn't mind playing the offline version that doesn't have the new additions. She could be fine.

From what i have read, the game has had some technical issues in the past, but I bought it this week and it works fine. Im not sure if the nvidia black screen bug has been fixed, but on 314 drivers for laptop it works fine.

Worth buying if you like the series IMO.

Iv been a fan of the series since heroes 2, and I honestly dont see why so many people have been complaining that the game sucks. They reduced the comlexity of the world map by reducing types of resources to 4, but the combat is much better than it was in the old titles.

Having to be online is the games biggest flaw. Too many gameplay items and perks are connected to U-play... but at least they manged to string it all up in a streamlined fasion so it doesnt get in the way too much. You can play through most of the game while in offline mode, you just miss out on some mission start perks and weapons.
