Go to Control Panel, Security, Windows Update
Click on View Installed Updates
Search for KB2803821 in search bar, right click - Uninstall Update

Yah Im in the same boat as TheWaxwingSlain. I have 1/2 screen video at the begining, and also don't have the update that people are saying to get rid of installed. Anyone else that had the same problem, and can point us in the right direction would be appreciated. Though so far the rest of the game works w/ no problems so it's not a huge concern. If I really desire to watch the opening cinematic I will go to youtube, and watch the trailer.

It is most definitely related to a Windows update issued around July 9th, 2013. Try uninstalling Windows updates from the week surrounding that time period and see if that resolves your problem.

Control Panel -> Uninstall Program -> View Installed Updates

If that doesn't work, install your newest video drivers. If that doesn't work, call a Priest.

I think that this is on most game forums right now. It has to do with the cinematics apparently and that one update from microsoft. Mine re-installed after I got it off once, so I am going to try and disable it from installing again.

Here's the process to keep it from re-installing:
- Go to Windows Update and check for updates.
- Click on the hyperlink that says there are updates available, then you can pick not to install it.
- Uncheck the update that says, "KB2803821" within it. Then, to further help, you can right-click on it and click hide update.
- Done.

This can't be a Solution. The solution ist to fix the bug. Erasing an "important security update" can only be a workaround.
unstillaing Updates just because the producer fails isn't right.
