So there it is... can't finish the game
I just noticed someone deleted my two last posts about the mana bug and some achievement hunt, so, I'll just create a new topic instead.
So, I've finally almost finished HoMM6 solo game. The 5 main campaigns, the Blood ending... Let's say that the 160 hours it took me weren't - by far - the most exciting gaming hours I've known. The maps are huge, mostly for nothing, filled with neutral stacks that never ever flee and useless dead ends. The fights are mostly lame, since you are, 90% of the time, completely overwhelming the ennemy thanks to the "let's convert towns around" idea.
So, I wanted to be able to say "Well, I've been through this ♥♥♥♥, despite it's boringness, despite its bugs, despite the fact it's a big slap in the face of the HoMM franchise, I did it". I always finish my games, especially when they cost 40€ like this one. Except, it's not gonna happen.
Why, you might ask? That's simple : I have two Tear heroes to finish the game with. Kiril and the Naga girl. I went with Kiril, being confident this mission would be as stupidly easy as the other ones. Except, this time around, you have no mines. No castle. And the ennemy magic heroes simply destroy half your army each fight, while you can hardly build up your towns. No matter how fast I rush, no matter how hard I use Drain Life, Regen and reinforcements, my Cerberus are dying everytime I meet a magic hero, usually one shotted by a chain lightning. Then, there go the Maniacs, the Succubi and what not. I restarted three times, including in easy. Can't finish it, whether I play defensively after taking the second town or keep rushing.
So, I tried with the Naga woman. Only to remember why I didn't chose her at first : her racial spells cost between 700 and 2000 MP, thanks to the ridiculous and not yet fixed mana bug. I could perhaps regen my way out of it and hope that her high magic defense will help me deal with suicidal heroes attacking me simply to cast a nasty spell, but honestly, I can't be arsed anymore. I'm done with this. I was considering buying the Dungeon dlc to play in multiplayer, but meh, I'll rather offer a friend HoMM5 gold for 9€ or HoMM3 complete for 5€. It will be less expensive, and a whole lot funnier.
I curse you Ubisoft, I curse you to hell. The day you'll go bankrupt I'll dance on your tomb.
