Map Editor?
I looked in the main menu, couldn't find any. Given how the EASY AI kicked my splendid bottom, I wanted to make a map to discover the game quietly.

I don't know about that precisely, but I can recommend two maps that I've been learning on: Fortress of Honour and Silence of the Ancestors. Real nice for managing territory control at a reasonable pace. Their "Large" size is actually pretty small so the games don't spiral out of control.
