HD HOMM III a letter to Ubisoft
Dear Ubisoft,

Don't drop the ball on this one;

I've looked at some of the work you have released, it's promising, and I assume that you are not at the finished product yet, even though Jan 2015 is right around the corner and there isn't much time to improve it.

This is what you need to do to make the fans happy and make money for your company:

1. No Ubisoft DRM for Steam
2. Make the game moddable via the workshop
3. Make the Expansions available, some want all in one bundle, whatever, just make them available.

Simple, no?

Heroes III will be in the top played games of Steam for decades to come if you follow those simple rules.

Heck you could have already released the original exe as long as those three rules were honored!

Find a way for steam to talk to uplay so the end user does not have to wade through two platforms to play a game. Remember many fans already have multiple licenses for Heroes III that is moddable, somewhat HD, and UPLAY free. Why would I pay for something that isn't that?

Also note that Heroes III has a lot more interest that Heroes 7 ever will. It's a potential cash cow if you just do it right.

Finally, get a store page up so we can start the community infrastructure for this game.

Thanks.

There's only one thing left to do with Ubisoft:

False advertising, isn't that punished by law?

I'm not sure that is the final quality. The hope is that they modernize the code and make it more readily moddable. The community will do the rest.

I assume it uses Steamworks since that's what's said in the press release, and Ubisoft did release non-Uplay/Steamworks games like Clash of Heroes. The port is done by DotEmu btw.

remaster of heroes 3 can be very nice, h3 is the best on the series... but maybe heroes 7 will back to true heroes roots, i think heroes 6 its good game just want small things to change...

- bring back the resources you remove in heroes 6(for god sake who thing to remove them)
- remove area control(i like take the mines by myself :) )
- remove dwalling share between citys (this ruin a lot of the gameplay)
- bring back the mage guild (its so fun to upgrade mage guild level and earn new cool spells)

you know what just give me heroes 3(or 5) with new graphics!!!! :)

Yes, this is all we need for a legend to be reborn. Don't ♥♥♥♥ this up Ubisoft, this one time.
Steam Workshop, Expansions, NO Uplay.

ROTFLMAO!!! I run heroes 3 on 4k scaled and it has clear simple graphics if not widescreen. And yes, while steam would make keeping up with my disks unneccesary, if they add UPLAY I will continue to keep up with my disks. As for modding, I seriously doubt workshop will be added, but if it is, it will have the same restrictions Age of Mythology has. I will even bet they will leave out the map generator...lol

But watch UBISOFT release it as Restoration of Erathia and add the remaining 12 expansions each as its own download of DLC...

People are so busy moaning about the visuals, they completely forget that old games usually tend to age very badly. Even if the visuals will be acceptable, the game is still old as ♥♥♥♥, and it wont stand very well compared to newer titles.

I loved H3, like most of you, i thought it was the best title in the serie... but that was ages ago, when i was way younger.
Times change, so does game standards.

OneWingedDevil, Heroes III has the best mods, and the graphics haven't aged at all. The Game is eminently playable compared to 5 6 and 7, which tend to have awkward camera angles and are slower because of the graphics demand on the engine.

after talk with my freinds about heroes and the HD version, we accept that heroes is the best but as nostalgia, he cant compared standarts, in short i hope heroes 7 will be a blast, meanwhile continue play heroes 5\6...

If it has Steamworks, I doubt it will have Uplay.

Not that it would matter to me, I've rarely had issues with Uplay, and would still buy the game.

H3 + HD + Expansions + Steamworks - Uplay = Epic Win. Easy Cash. Best Heroes Ever.

Ubi please, take care with this classic.

If Uplay, I will not purchase.

Exaclty what the OP. said It is damn easy money for you all at UBI. Just give us ALL OF heroes 3 with all the shiny new graphics and you are golden! Then sit back and watch the cash roll in. It could not be simpler than that. No work in changing stuff. No work in thinking of new stuff. No work in new engines. Just give us an upgraded version of heroes 3 THAT IS ALL! How can you &^%$ that up? My advise DON'T!

This will surely be awesome - but it will have to not have Uplay DRM for me to buy it, as I'll want it on Steam, and without 3rd party DRM.

Hopefully Ubisoft do an HD of HoMM 2 afterwards - as it's truly the best HoMM.

HoMM 3 is more popular because the brand became more popular after (and due to) HoMM 2, and for many fans HoMM 3 was the first HoMM game which they played. But HoMM 2 is still even better than HoMM 3, and has one of the greatest soundtracks ever put into a game.

Smell like "Age of Empire II HD". Besides ZoidberForPresident is right. Such false representation does not occurs well. 3DO deserved better than having UBI dropping ♥♥♥♥ on such a jewl as HOMM3. Old upscaled my a**!
