Heroes 7 & UPlay

Dear Ubisoft,

Please don't not have include Uplay with the upcoming Heroes game. Just use steamworks as your DRM. As much as I have loved play Heroes 6, I will not buy another game that includes Uplay. I'm tired of the problems it has had. I'm tired of it taking so long just to get into a game. Please just get rid of Uplay. I know I'm not alone in this....
Uplay = no sale.

Same here, I bought the Complete Edition and have never got to play a single moment of it. as Uplay keeps messing me around and failing. Not to mention the fact Ubisoft even quote they will steal your personal info in the terms and conditions...Ubisoft really have to to change. They are making EA look like saints atm.

Big fan of Heroes, but really starting to hate Ubisoft.

amen to that, I love(d) the heroes series up to the 6th installment, I bought this on steam so I want to play it through steam, not having to go through uplay...... why selling it on steam if you're going to use your own thing instead.... that's just unneeded and unwanted

ok so when the official steam ambassador of uplay reads AND ANSWERS(!!!) to this pledge pls do also answer this question
i got a question regarding UPLAY STORE they have a tab called "gratis games" but when i hit the button it redirects me to my dashboard and shows me "daylie highlights" aka comercials to buy their ♥♥♥♥ty games.

If MMH7 goes Uplay exclusive, that'll be the end of the Might and Magic franchise for me. I can't stand that program and only tolerate it because it "cooperated" with Steam.

But this exclusivity like Origin... go to hell.

this game freezes all the time and i am sick of it i played all mmh and never had a problem till this one and at this point i dont even want to play the game because it freezes and shuts down every time i play its not a matter of if it will freeze its a matter of when

i bought it out of decency, as long as uplay is active i'm not playing this via steam ... i'm playing the cracked version on single player since i never get to play multiplayer heroes :)

i'm sick of all these companies trying to copy steam and each making it's own launcher and ♥♥♥♥... at least origin is copying steam as good as they can and battle.net has enough money to be and function good but it's allready too much :) ... i barely use origin, i mostly farm the on the house ♥♥♥♥ and then quit it until next month and battle.net i use because it saves me the trouble of logging in in each and every game individually

U guys can play this game !
Its just a bug in Uplay that makes everything ♥♥♥♥ up when u install it through steam first.

here is what u have to do .

1. Deinstall HoMM6 from steam -> Deinstall it completely from your hardware
2. deinstall Uplay completely from your harddrive
3. Have steam closed (Steam must not ! be open)
4. create a uplay account ..install uplay to your harddrive and add HoMM6 !

Now u can finally open Steam again.

Did work for me !
The Problem is that when u install it first through steam and then try to login into Uplay.. Uplay crashes...

It turns out that BritneySpearsAloT was right, though I didn't need to delete/reinstall Heroes 6 for this to work. My best guess is that the November 5 update to the PC UPLAY client is required for CONFLUX functionality, but Steam is not updating to that version. I had to get out of Steam, manually download the November 5 UPLAY client, and then open up Steam and get going. (Steam tries to update the UPLAY launcher but apparently gives up and loads the game.)

Be that as it may, this is far from ideal and I'm always worried that this game will just cease to function at some point. It has been a long bumpy road for Heroes 6, and an entirely avoidable problem for Heroes 7 if they just wisen up.
